LOCATED IN THE 'WALKERS WELCOME' TOWN OF MOFFAT
An attractive single storey holiday home in a peaceful location on the edge of the popular Borders town of Moffat, recently designated as Scotland first 'Walkers are Welcome' town. The picturesque town centre is just a short stroll while attractive country walks are also on the door step.
Moffat makes an excellent base for exploring Scotland with Edinburgh just an hour away and the wonderful Solway Coast and Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park all within easy reach. Scotland’s history and heritage is close by and a popular visitor route runs up past St Mary’s Loch leading to some of the famous castles and abbeys of the Scottish Borders, including the dark and foreboding Hermitage Castle with it’s links to much Border Reiver History and also Mary Queen of Scots.
The local area has an abundance of attractions to suit all tastes including quiet woodland walks and two nature reserves nearby, golf and fishing available in the town itself and easy access to mountain bike routes with the 7 Stanes routes offering world class mountain biking. All these possibilities allow the amazing countryside and wildlife can be enjoyed at your own pace. One of the special things not to miss includes the path up beside the waterfall at the Grey Mare's Tail (NTS), where you can search for fossils or spot birds of prey.
Moffat is also located close (but not too close) to the A754(M) allowing shorter journey times between much loved destinations like Glasgow, Edinburgh, the Falkirk Wheel and Loch Lomond, for those looking to explore a little further afield.

'Bungalow in an ideal location, close to Moffat and an easy drive to the surrounding areas. Kid’s favourite was Threave Castle and the small boat to get across the moat. The Ruthwell Savings Bank Museum was small but the kids loved the Piggy Banks. The Explorer Pass was well worth the money as we went to 7 out of the 9 Castles/Abbey/Mill within the Dumfries and Galloway Area. Food at the local pub, the Stag went down a treat with all of us. Ideal area for walking around Moffat. A great holiday enjoyed by all'. The Jones Family
