For the more adventurous mountain biking is nearby at Kirroughtree where you will find part of the Forestry Commission's 7stanes trails. Golf courses and pony trekking are within a short drive for the more active or view the lovely scenery for those lazy days. Slightly further away is Stranraer for swimming, leisure centre, shopping, eating out. The ferry port of Cairnryan is close-by for day trips to Ireland. The famous golf course at Turnberry in Ayrshire is 30 miles away. Wigtown for the book festival is only about 45 minutes away.

Accommodation on two floors: Ground Floor: Lounge with open fire, No fuel supplied (Fuel for the fire is available by a separate arrangement with the owner); Sitting room with a electric fire; Bathroom with separate shower cubicle; Dining room and Kitchen. First floor: 2 x Double bedroom; 1 Single with Truckle bed ; Bathroom on the first floor, comprising of bath, toilet & wash basin.

Perfection! but please change the Aga, the oil smell is overpowering now and gets into your clothes, really not ideal sorry

Excellent base for our fishing trip, warm and dry. Any problems soon dealt with, though TV access could be better.

Currently it’s a 30 minute drive in from Stranraer. Once the shorter access road is fixed it will probably be half that time. The house has a great new kitchen which is well furnished with everything you need to cook with, and both bathrooms have been refurbished. The all round views are stunning and it was lovely meeting the shepherdess who lives nearby. There are two sitting rooms so plenty of space for a larger group to spread out have peace and quiet or watch tv. Wifi works well. Heating is by storage heaters. Washing line and rack for drying clothes. .A great base for visiting nearby gardens (Castle Kennedy and Logan Botanical) as well as the amazing beach at Sandhead. .The Raeburn needs removing as it has seen better days and the oily smell was a problem for some of our party. I understand the owner will be seeing to this very soon.
