A drive along the picturesque coast brings you to Laide, which boasts some local amenities. You can find a friendly village pub at Aultbea slightly further afield. As well as majestic countryside and coastline nearby, longer trips can take you to the charming town of Ullapool and the striking city of Inverness with its dominating castle and wealth of amenities. It is our feeling that one woodburning stove is not sufficient at this time of year. Underfloor heating was present in the bedroom and bathroom but the main room remained freezing for many hours and this actually led to an individual falling so ill that we vacated the cottage in the early hours of Sunday, thus bringing our week to an abrupt end. We could not contact anyone as the phone numbers listed are inaccessible. We received a partial refund but remain dissatisfied. A shame as the cottage was lovely and a fine location etc. If only the heating issue could be resolved.

Perfect getaway from it all and very relaxing, some wonderful walks nearby and fantastic wildlife on the doorstep. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Would highly recommend.

Still plenty to see in daylight hours and plenty of wildlife around after dark. It was also nice to be in the area out of season. Wee Barn was cozy and had all I needed. Hope to return.
