Situated in a superb rural location, on the stunning west coast of Scotland, S78890 is a delightful, detached cottage enjoying wonderful sea and hill views. This single-storey, stone-built cottage has been built to resemble a traditional Highland croft using local Torridonian sandstone. The property has been thoughtfully furnished whilst conveying a sense of olde-worlde charm, and Scottish Natural Heritage have commended the design for its resemblance to an original croft house. The living area is open plan and retains the same theme and quality as the exterior, with exposed stone wall, hand-crafted vaulted wood ceiling and solid wood flooring. A large wood burner in the living area offers a warm, welcoming ambiance, and views from the windows look out across open grounds to the sea and islands beyond. The large kitchen and dining area is well-equipped, and has plenty of room for family dining. There are two beautifully presented bedrooms which both offer en-suite facilities. The cottage is set in 1-acre grounds, which is mainly lawn around the cottage, with rough grass land beyond.
S78890 is situated on the outskirts of the pretty hamlet of Laide, and is accessed by a short stone track. There are wonderful walks direct from the cottage, either down to the shoreline or away to the hills, with a lovely waterfall close by. There are a number of local facilities in the village, such as a small shop, post office and car garage. Further facilities are found in the nearby towns of Aultbea and Gairloch. The sporting activities in this region are endless with opportunities for mountain biking, climbing, hill walking, kayaking, fishing, sailing and golf. The nearby sandy beach at Gruinard Bay is a must, and the 200-acre wood at Laide provides a great chance to encounter a wide range of wildlife, including pine martens, badgers, birds of prey and deer. Beach 1 mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 5 miles.
