A wonderful cottage equipped for your every need with walks direct from the door and sandy beaches close by.
Situated in a superb rural location, on the stunning west coast of Scotland, S78890 is a delightful, detached cottage enjoying wonderful sea and hill views. This single-storey, stone-built cottage has been built to resemble a traditional Highland croft using local Torridonian sandstone. The property has been thoughtfully furnished whilst conveying a sense of olde-worlde charm, and Scottish Natural Heritage have commended the design for its resemblance to an original croft house. The living area is open plan and retains the same theme and quality as the exterior, with exposed stone wall, hand-crafted vaulted wood ceiling and solid wood flooring. A large wood burner in the living area offers a warm, welcoming ambiance, and views from the windows look out across open grounds to the sea and islands beyond. The large kitchen and dining area is well-equipped, and has plenty of room for family dining. There are two beautifully presented bedrooms which both offer en-suite facilities. The cottage is set in 1-acre grounds, which is mainly lawn around the cottage, with rough grass land beyond.
S78890 is situated on the outskirts of the pretty hamlet of Laide, and is accessed by a short stone track. There are wonderful walks direct from the cottage, either down to the shoreline or away to the hills, with a lovely waterfall close by. There are a number of local facilities in the village, such as a small shop, post office and car garage. Further facilities are found in the nearby towns of Aultbea and Gairloch. The sporting activities in this region are endless with opportunities for mountain biking, climbing, hill walking, kayaking, fishing, sailing and golf. The nearby sandy beach at Gruinard Bay is a must, and the 200-acre wood at Laide provides a great chance to encounter a wide range of wildlife, including pine martens, badgers, birds of prey and deer. Beach 1 mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 5 miles.

    Emily – 28 Oct 2018
"Had a lovely time at S78890. It was everything we had hoped for and more. It is in a perfect location to do the NC500 as well. We would definitely stay here again."
    Mairi – 21 Oct 2018
"We had a fabulous week at S78890. The cottage is spacious, attractive and immaculate. It is in a perfect location to explore the area and it was very helpful to have lots of local information available at the cottage. We would definitely stay at this lovely cottage again. Thank you!"
    Janet – 19 Oct 2018
"Another fantastic week at S78890, the only point I have docked is the location, which is fantastic, but you have to open and close a farm gate and in typical Wester Ross weather this means usually getting soaked or blown over!! Linda, once again, has excelled in her duties regarding cleaning etc."
    Tracey – 30 Sep 2018
"We fell in love with this property and have already booked for next year! If you want a secluded traditional cottage which is also modern, spotlessly clean and warm then this is for you. Location is spectacular."
    Christian – 13 Sep 2018
    "Fantastic Holiday!"
    Esther – 15 Jul 2018
"Lovely place. Really pleased to see the eco friendly products provided. Very comfortable and well equipped. Would stay again."
    Harold – 25 Jun 2018
"We had a great time love the area"
    Dave – 5 Jun 2018
"Pretty barn style cottage in lovely, quiet location with views to the Summer Isles. Lovely open plan kitchen and living area with all mod cons, comfy bedrooms and clean bathrooms. The shed was really useful for outdoor toys and walking boots, and storing our cases so they weren't in the way. Only grumbles would be the big scary crack in the master bedroom window and the small, noisy fridge. Otherwise a real pleasure and would definitely come again."
    Doreen – 4 Jun 2018
"We had a brilliant holiday at S78890 just what we hoped it would be. Very clean and well equipped, plenty of space and wonderful location. We will certain look at booking again next year . Thank you"
    Elaine – 29 May 2018
"Excellent accommodation. Very well equipped. Would recommend it!"
    Karen – 21 Apr 2018
"Cosy modern cottage in a traditional style, peaceful location with sea and country views. The cottage is well equipped and has an amazing shed. (First time that's ever gone in a review!) We enjoyed some lovely cycle rides right from the door."
    James – 24 Feb 2018
"Quietly situated and well equipped, cosy log burner for those cold nights. Rural location so great for the outdoor adventure type, decent walking in some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. Comfortable for 4 adults/children. Spotlessly clean. If you are going in winter time beware the track to and from the property has a bit of a gradient climb and with a snow covering it can be a bit difficult. We almost got stuck and that was with winter tyres.Value for money comment based on this being expensive in relation to other comparable property lets in the area."
    Dorinda – 10 Jan 2018
"I had a superb break. The cottage was spotless and the welcome pack very welcome, particularly given that the weather and drive had been long and tiring. The log supply was very generous and particularly welcome given that the weather was interesting and I was there for rest and not for massive amounts of exercise. The beds were comfortable (to put it mildly); the book and DVD selection excellent. Given that my criteria were 'log fire' and 'bath' it more than lived up to expectations. I will be looking to go back again."
