A pretty terraced cottage on the banks of the River Ness in the centre of the vibrant city of Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. This is an ideal location for visitors who want to travel without a car as access to the airport, train station and bus station is easy. For those with a car this makes a perfect base from which to tour the Highlands themselves. The cottage is spacious and welcoming with no less than three bathrooms. The ground floor has a lovely open plan kitchen and dining room where meals can be easily prepared and enjoyed in front of the cosy woodburning stove. The bedrooms are on the first floor along with the main bathroom. A soak in the bath whilst looking out over the river to the lights of the city is encouraged. On pleasant days the private rear garden is a relaxing spot for a quiet read or morning coffee.
This cottage is ideally located close to a great range of facilities and yet is quietly tucked away in a peaceful and tranquil location with lovely views over the river. There is also plenty of quality restaurants and lively pubs to enjoy in the evenings. Why not take a walk along the banks of the river and cross the popular Ness Islands, over the suspension bridges and back into town? On this walk you could well see otters close to the river bank so do take your camera. From here a day trip over the sea to Skye makes a great day out, or perhaps take the Malt Whisky Trail and partake in a sample or two. This riverside cottage is perfect and ensures a wonderful holiday at any time of the year.
The Capital of the Highlands, Inverness is the gateway to the delights of the Highlands of Scotland. Towering mountains, dark lochs, and sea cliffs are all within easy reach. Of particular note Loch Ness is surrounded by some breathtaking scenery, as well as being on the lookout for something a bit more mysterious! Just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden, whilst a walk on the field serves as a poignant reminder of the clansmen who lost their lives.
