Close by is a local golf course, the Castle of Mey (The Queen Mother's Castle) and there are local ferry services to Orkney which has many archeological sites to visit. The village of Keiss has a pub and restaurant within easy walking distance and Wick has all amenities, restaurants, shops, supermarkets. A stones throw away is a working harbour and Keiss sandy beach which extends approx 3 miles, abundant with a variety of sea birds, waders and occasional seals.
