Situated on the Isle of Skye, the village of Balmaquein is situated between Duntulm and Flodigarry, where Flora McDonald famously helped Bonnie Prince Charlie to escape from his pursuers by dressing him as a woman. Portree, the Island’s capital is set around a natural harbour and is full of shops, hotels and restaurants.
