Both twin rooms can be doubles on request and the king-size double boasts an en-suite bathroom with a fabulous freestanding bath. The ground floor family bathroom is also one step down from the hallway. The charming sitting room comfortably seats six and there are two steps up into the well-equipped kitchen and dining area, ideal for preparing an evening meal after a day discovering all South Lanarkshire has to offer. There’s also a utility room at the rear of the property, leading to a courtyard. At the front of the cottage there is a decked garden with furniture, lockable bike storage and a barbecue, perfect for watching the world go by or dining alfresco. Explore the history of the area at the Douglas Heritage Museum or visit St Bride’s Church, with the oldest working clock in Scotland, dating from 1565. Enjoy superb hill and moorland walking and cycling on the nearby Douglas Estates as well as excellent fishing on the Douglas Water. A little further afield is the Douglas Water Golf Club with its stunning views of the Lanarkshire countryside. Visit the charming market town of Biggar and see the famous Victorian Puppet Theatre or revel in one of the many festivals taking place throughout the year.
