"Just back today having spent a week at S38093. I decided to have a week away with the dog, to walk, read and find some peace and quiet. From the moment I stepped inside Sweet Pea Cottage, I knew it was going to be perfect. There is parking just outside the cottage and the walled garden at the back, which is accessed from french doors, is much bigger than the pictures portray. The wood burner was easy to use and logs were supplied by the owners, I was advised to help myself. There is ..."

"Sweet Pea Cottage is cosy, comfortable and quiet. The enclosed garden was perfect for my hound to stretch her legs."
Mr Faber – 1 Jul 2018
"Very good cottage."
Mrs Fritsma – 1 Jun 2018
"It was a lovely house with a beautiful garden and we have enjoyed our holiday very much. The owners of the cottage were very nice and friendly people. What we missed however was some more information about the facilities and what you can do (without a car) in the surroundings, if you can walk or bike there. Around Wiston were not so many possibilities for walking and biking because there were only big roads. We discovered New Lanard, where we could go by bus, that was a very nice and beautiful place to walk and where we could do all the shoppings ( in Lanard), but we did not know it in advance. More information about were we can walk, do the shoppings, rent a bike, public transport would have been convenient. There was a busstop in Wiston but not a direct connection between Edinghburg and Wiston. We came by bus from Edingburgh, asked the busdriver to stop in Wiston (where he passed) but he didn't know were it was, missed Wiston and stopped 2 miles further. So we were dropped with all the lugage in the middle of nowhere. We could only get some information after we booked and payed and the owner also didn't know everything, because he has a car and is not used to go by bus or bike."

"Cleanliness of the cottage was lacking, this was the only downside. Cottage was really comfortable and in a beautiful setting."

"Beautiful, peaceful setting, owners very welcoming and friendly,"
- Mrs Crossland, March 2017 – 20 Jul 2017
"We had a lovely relaxing time. Our deaf dog Poppy especially enjoyed the secure large garden and had a marvellous time running, playing ball and catch grandma out there."
- RamonaL34, January 2017 – 20 Jul 2017
"We stayed at the Sweatpea Cottage for Christmas. It was the perfect place to get away from holiday stress and nonsense this time of year brings. It is such a comfortable place to relax and get away from everything. We were especially pleased that they allowed pets. We can imagine holidays without the stress but not our pet. It was nice having her with us. The cottage has everything you need to relax and feel at home - comfortable bed, fire place, stove, refrigerator, dishes, silverware, towels, television/cable, DVD player/DVD's, nice views of the garden, and the internet. Edinburgh is not too far. The town of Biggar is very close by and has some great places to eat. We loved our stay here. Will definitely try to come back if we are in the area. Highly recommended."

"Not sure what could have happened to first reviewer in May, can't have had cleaner turn up or something, but for us.... Nice cosy bolt-hole for couple of days. Big lawn for our dog to romp around. View to Tinto hill. Good kitchen - new fridge, cooker ok? - comfy living room. Shower could be improved. But it has what I want from a rural break (for a single or couple) - fresh air/water, peace and quiet, views and dark sky. It's a 'getaway' although wi-fi worked. Nearest civilisation, Biggar, nice town, liked Crown Inn"
- Mr Tucker, October 2016 – 20 Jul 2017
"Very nice couple of nights in very quiet area, had wonderful sunrise, dark sky at night. Good cottage with dog, big lawn, quiet walks around. Property cosy enough for couple, good well-fitted kitchen, really warm log fire, a character property. Just the electric shower a bit difficult to adjust. Met the owner, very pleasant. See also review on Tripadvisor"
- Mr Schofield, September 2016 – 20 Jul 2017
"I put I wouldn't book it again because I never go anywhere twice but I would happily recommend the cottage to other couples. It's quite charming, very well maintained, furnished and equipped."
- Mr Hilton, August 2016 – 20 Jul 2017
"Cottage was just as described, scenery was gorgeous. Owner was most friendly and helpful also. For eating out, we recommend The Mill Inn at Coulter (approx 6 miles) or The Crown Inn at Biggar (approx 8 miles). Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at S38093 and would stay again."
- Mr Black, January 2017 – 20 Jul 2017
"We seldom go anywhere twice but have recommended the cottage to others."
Mrs Rogers – 1 Jul 2017
