"Super cottage with lovely views. Clean, modern, well equipped and eco-friendly. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and quickly made ourselves comfortable. I should explain the lower marks for local amenities. This isn't a complaint, it's how we like it. Lewis is a quiet island (and even more so during Covid) and that's why we were there on holiday, so there's not much in the way of local amenities that need to be on hand. There's supermarkets, butchers and fishmonger and a few restaurants in Stornoway which is only 20 minutes away."
    Lindsey – 4 Nov 2020
"Beautiful and comfortable home. Had everything we needed. Amazing views. Would definitely recommend staying here for a relaxing and peaceful holiday."
    Sally – 26 Oct 2020
"Fabulous house with wonderful views. Very easy to look after and relax in. The owners had provided some thoughtful essentials and treats. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it quite easy to get around the island to see places of interest. Unfortunately a lot of places were closed due to COVID but didn’t stop us enjoying the beautiful and gorgeous scenery."
    Johanna – 10 Oct 2020
"Healair is a beautiful cottage and really nice, well laid out and very well equipped. The owners are very friendly, we met at a socially distanced way outside the cottage. They provided us with clear instructions and a warm welcome, we appreciated the welcome pack. The views over the bay and towards the lighthouse are amazing, every day is wonderful to wake up to see the light and the changing weather systems over the bay. It is an easy drive via Stornoway to explore Lewis and Harris."
    Carol – 21 Sep 2020
"Overall a lovely cottage with fabulous view. Loved that it was environmentally friendly. Two downsides were that it was too warm for us with no clear advice as to how to turn down heating and the beds were not very comfortable."
    Stephanie – 20 Aug 2020
"Healair is a clean and modern cottage with a large cathedral window giving lots of light and great views into the bay where if you are lucky you may spot a dolphin or further out even a whale; alas we did not spot any at the times we were looking - binoculars provided. Underfloor heating kept the cottage cosy at all times. The kitchen and dining area has all the essentials for catering and the owners kindly provided a cafetière on request. An outdoor seating area is good for morning coffee in the sunshine, and outside there is plenty of space for car parking and storing outdoor equipment e.g.. kayaks or surf boards. We managed to visit all parts of Harris and Lewis from this base. The owners were very helpful and there is plenty of information about the cottage and islands in the property folder."
    Megan – 12 Aug 2020
"Fabulous location for views and peace and quiet. Beautiful, well designed house with comfy mattress, useful foyer and drying room. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely shower room and shower. Very friendly hosts, with lots of local knowledge and happy to share ideas on what to do and where to see the best wildlife. Seeing dolphins from our sitting room was a real treat."
    Pavel – 5 Aug 2020
"Great cottage, very well equipped, impressive eco-engineering & design. Quiet location, with wonderful views over the bay and the lighthouse at the tip of the Eye peninsula. If you are lucky enough as we were, you may even spot pack of dolphins jumping around in the bay. Good location for exploring Lewis/Harris as most of the famous beauty spots/attractions were within one hour drive from the cottage."
    Susan – 9 Feb 2020

The house is beautiful, everything is of a very high quality, we could not fault a single thing, the views are amazing, the location is great and the house has everything you could ever want for a great stay exploring the island."

    Eileen – 14 Jul 2019
"Great property although double bed was a bit small.Lovely views across the MinchWonderfully designed property - great kitchen."
    Gavin – 30 Jun 2019
"We had a super week on Lewis and Harris. I'm not going to lie - when we first arrived, we were disappointed not to have done more research and to have located ourselves so far away from the beaches in the north and the mountains in Harris, but we quickly grew to love the location. Because of the unusual road system on the island, it turned out to be a perfect position for exploring everywhere without having to travel for too long. Our days were spent exploring the island, our evenings at Healair just enjoying the view and watching for seals in the bay. The highlight has to have been the surprise of Tiumpan Head- we went up on our last day not expecting much, but it was a lovely walk over - and rewarded by hours of watching dolphins and minke whales in the sea. Just perfect."

"A very well appointed property with a stunning view. Spacious and very clean. A very warm welcome received from owners along with local produce of duck eggs, and salmon. A bottle of red wine very much appreciated. The only disadvantage was the 4ft 6 bed in the double room would benefit from a 5ft bed."
    William – 5 Jun 2019
"Healair is a truly wonderful "home" - absolutely perfect! Christian and Gil have thought of everything that is needed to make for a superb holiday. Also the extras left - fresh eggs, smoked salmon and wine were lovely touches. Will hopefully return sometime in the future."

"Helair is a beautiful place to stay. When we left the cottage each morning we were greeted by skylarks singing and a cuckoo calling. The view was stunning. Lovely to watch the fishing boat in the evening take its tour around the bay. The facilities were great. Owners had thought of everything we might need and more, including a lovely vase of flowers, smoked salmon, fresh eggs, locally made biscuits and a bottle of wine. Great base for seeing the standing stones, Harris tweed weaving and stunning sandy beaches with seabirds nesting in the cliffs nearby. We would recommend a trip to Port Ness. Lovely welcome from Owners. If wanting to go on a sea trip to spot dolphins, I would suggest you book before leaving home as they were all booked up by the time we arrived."
