    This delightful semi-detached property is situated on the outskirts of the town of Caerleon near Newport. Built in the 1920s this property offers comfortable accommodation for a family or group of friends looking to explore the delights of South Wales. The gated driveway leads up steps from the parking area through a variety of lawned and seated areas, past two netted fish ponds to the front of the property. Traditionally furnished throughout this property has a porch area which leads through into a spacious lounge which has plenty of space for everyone to sit and relax in front of the warming woodburner-effect electric fire or to curl up with a good book on the window seat. From the sitting room the well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar and dining area where you can sit and chat over the day’s events. The children will enjoy the additional family room where they can spread out their toys and play without disturbing the adults. There is a separate utility room next to the kitchen with plenty of space for muddy footwear and a handy extra toilet. Open tread stairs from the hall lead upstairs to three pleasant bedrooms, one of which is zip/link for extra flexibility and the master king-size double has a lovely window seat overlooking the garden. A family bathroom completes the accommodation. The rear garden is lawned with plenty of space for the children to run off the last of their energy and there is a summerhouse for guests use. The town of Caerleon is close by with a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Visit the nearby Roman fortress and baths to experience Roman Britain. The surrounding area has wonderful countryside to explore with scenic walks in the Wye Valley and Usk Valley. For those who enjoy shopping why not head to nearby Cardiff and spend a day on retail therapy or pop into Newport? If the weather is kind to you spend a day on one of the many glorious sandy beaches of South Wales. There really is something for everyone at this well-located cottage.

    Caerleon is a suburban town and community situated on the River Usk on the outskirts of Newport in South Wales. Caerleon is well known for its Roman fortress and baths where visitors can experience Roman Britain in the second century. A walk up Christchurch provides panoramic views of the River Usk and Bristol. Celtic Manor Resort, where Europe won the Ryder Cup, is also close by and offers three championship golf courses, luxury spa and fitness facilities, excellent restaurants as well as lots of activities for all the family.

    "This is the best equipped and resourced holiday cottage we have ever been to. It’s warm, comfortable and very welcoming. We would highly recommend it. It has very quirky decor but is spotless and has a fabulous layout with lots of space inside and out!"

Only the two of us staying but lots of room for up to 5 and everything that you'd expect provided and lots more things that perhaps you wouldn't, such as all the odds and ends you might forget for the kitchen and even milk, a lovely bottle of wine and some fruit juice in the fridge. In fact, we kept finding things that would/could be useful, depending on the weather and who you had with you - games for kids and adults, DVDs and so on. Lovely garden too with lots of ..."

    "Cottage was very nice and as described on the website, the decor is largely from the 1970s but all very clean. The garden is lovely and when it gets too hot the summerhouse is a nice spot out of the direct sun. Caerleon is a 10 minute walk to pubs, restaurants and shops. The only disconcerting bit is walking along a narrow path into town when although supposedly in a 40mph and then 30mph limit road, vehicles hurtle into Caerleon at crazy speeds."

It had all the equipment that we needed for our holiday eg iron, ironing board and a very well equipped kitchen. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and gave us good tips about interesting places to go. Also appreciated having different maps of the area to plan from, both of these showing where the property was."

This home is ideal for a family and it provides lots of alternative entertainment for the children on poor weather days. Great location and very well equipped. Highly recommended and when we come back to Wales we will definitely stay there again if we are able."
