S44749 (Little Valley) is situated in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Britain's only coastal national park has a spectacular coastline with a variety of landscapes - from cliffs, arches and stacks, sea caves and sandy beaches to wooded estuaries with lakes, hills and moorland further inland. (In 2011, the park was voted as the second best coastal destination in the world by the National Geographic magazine.)
The cottage is set in a wooded hillside within its own secluded valley, 300m from the road. From outside the property there are views across Fishguard Bay, and often spectacular sunsets. S44749 is a five-minute drive from the market town of Fishguard and the village of Newport which has excellent restaurants, an unspoilt sandy beach, horse riding, fishing and a links golf club that welcomes visitors.
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is a 10-minute walk from the property and there are also moorland rambles inland at Dinas. There are some which are easily walked from the property. The area abounds in wildlife and the mild climate ensures that spring arrives early and autumn lingers. Trips to the offshore islands operate most months of the year - spring and autumn are the best times to see seals and porpoises.
In the words of the National Trust "Escape to the western edge of Wales and explore a dramatic coastal landscape. Discover the secrets of our wild places and create your own memories".

"Absolutely brilliant, could not fault it. Although I do think your holidays are quite expensive."
    Confirmed Guest
"It was wonderfully clean and well taken care of. The only point I would make is the indoor lighting is poor and the cottage seemed dark and not well lit (either in the living room or the dining area). The blind in the bedroom was also a little mouldy when pulled down. The shower was great and lots of hot water, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the walks from the cottage were fantastic."

"Tracey and Nigel made us very welcome from the start with their hamper full of goodies. The cottage was immaculate and cosy and the setting is perfect for a walking holiday. We've had a thoroughly enjoyable week walking the cliff tops and spotting the sea-birds. Our dog being allowed on the beaches was a real bonus at this time of year too. Loved St. Davids and Salvo, Poppit and Newport beaches, plus all the amazing little coves dotted around the coast. We've been very lucky with the weather, but even if it had rained all week, we'd have been happy in this delightful spot. Thank you!"

Did the walk from Dinas Cross to Newport on the coast walk with lunch at the Golden Lion (Great Food). Great hosts, just wish we had booked for longer, will be back."

"We have had a relaxing stay in your cottage. Thank you so much. Well-equipped and very comfortable. Arrived to a very welcome hamper with everything we might need. We felt very at home and that if we needed anything it was not too much trouble to ask. The walks straight from the house are nice but we went slightly further afield to Alltclun? Which was a nice circular walk on many different terrains. Newport Beach was fantastic and we spent a lot of our week there. Local amenities were good and the food at the Golden Lion was amazing, we ate there 3 times! Dogs loved it, lots of smells and the doorstep of rabbits etc. We hope to be back soon."

"This was the best place we have ever stayed. The location for me was the selling point and it didn't disappoint - secluded and private without being isolated - the views and surrounding area was just stunning. The standard of the property was high, every detail was thought of. The owners were welcoming and helpful and left us a hamper filled with lots of fresh fruit and easter eggs (among other goodies). There is no way to improve on this accommodation, we all thought it was perfect, thank you to Snaptrip and S44749 (and the dog says thanks for letting her stay too)"

"We've had a great week. Good sunshine for most of the time. Walked every day without doubt but the best walk was Dinas Head which we extended by walking down to Aberbach first and then onto Aberforest and then back up the valley (stunning spring flowers, new ferns - very fairy tale) to the road and over to walk back to the cottage along the ridge. Also loved views from Carningli. The walk from Abereiddy to Portgain was interesting and scenic. Many thanks"

We spent most of the week on the beach exploring the beautiful coves which are all dog friendly. The walk around Dinas Head was tiring but stunning and a trip to St David's a must. Thank you to our wonderful hosts - you went to so much trouble which was very much appreciated, we will be back. "

We were very impressed with the cottage, the area, and the welcome hamper was fantastic. The owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Newport was great for restaurants. There are dog friendly beaches in both directions - even the walk to the local beach was great. Looking forward to a return trip! "
