Whether you explore the Mendip hills to the north, walking in its wind swept
limestone landscape and finding refreshment at the traditional village pubs,
or you discover the Somerset Levels and Moors to the south which is the
largest area of lowland wet grassland and grazing marsh remaining in
England.
The cottage is a single storey converted cow barn with a large open plan
living area with exposed wooden roof trusses.
There is a wood burning stove in the huge inglenook fire place and a
plentiful supply of logs from our woodland.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, halogen hob and oven and is well
equipped with modern stainless steel utensils.
There is one bedroom with a fine double bed with white cotton linen. There
is a single bed suitable for a child and a travel cot. There is also an extra bed available, which would make the cottage suitable for a family of 4
The ensuite bathroom has a white suite with bath and shower.
Immediately outside is a large private patio area with table, chairs and
Chimnea. This is an ideal place for a barbecue in the evening. Feel free to
explore the farm where you may well see wildlife in abundance including;
deer, foxes, badgers, rabbits, owls, buzzards and woodpeckers. Why not have
a picnic on the hill or walk up to the trigpoint and watch the sunset across
the Mendips?
Heating, electricity and a plentiful supply of fire wood are included as are
bed linen and towels. Use of the washer and tumble dryer is also available.
Free range eggs and Lamb are available.
