Your first sight of Brook Cottage, nestling under its thatch, will delight you. When you go inside you will not be disappointed.
Old beams, an inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove, and wonderfully comfortable settees make you want to snuggle up with a book and relax. The bedrooms are attractively painted with stencilling or animal murals, two with en-suite shower rooms. There is a bathroom and three toilets. The huge master bedroom has folding bed and cot.
You will want to go out and explore the beaches, cliff walks, extensive common land, and the pretty seaside towns of Budleigh and Sidmouth. You can ride on the common, go bird watching on the estuary, browse the antique shops of Topsham, taste the fresh seafood in the many pubs and restaurants or visit the Crealy adventure park. Children love the Donkey Sanctuary. There is Dartmoor to explore, the gardens at Killerton or RHS Rosemoor and, still within easy reach, the amazing Eden Project. There will always be a lift to your spirits when you return to the cottage. You can barbecue in the garden on warm summer evenings, play games or watch DVDs. The gravelled yard is enclosed so is safe for young children and a perfect suntrap for a top-up tan.
Brook Cottage suits people holidaying with extended family or friends. A great boon is that it has two sitting rooms, so the children can gather noisily in the snug whilst the adults have peace and quiet in the main living space! Whoever is preparing the meal in the well-equipped kitchen will not feel left out as the sitting room and kitchen are open plan.
Our dogs love Brook Cottage, too. They get so many walks! But if they have to be left behind they settle down in the outbuilding with access to the safe enclosed yard.
The cottage is not suitable for mobility disabled because the stairs are steep and quite open.
