What our customers say about their holidays

A gem of a hideaway, secret and welcoming.
Great views from all the windows and plenty of outside space to sit, chill out and enjoy. It was smashing for me, all on one level and easy to get around. The bed was comfortable with enough pillows and extra cover if we felt cool. More than enough towels for the compact bathroom and plenty hot water. I sat outside on a sun trap terrace and on the deck reached from the sitting room. A brook burbles and gushes through the garden and goldfinches and blackbirds were so very entertaining as were the woodpeckers flying to and from the nest. A wonderful place for some armchair birdwatching. The garden was a great with trees, shrubs and flowers all slightly wild and romantic with a feel of a real secret garden that was fun to explore. Our host was great, showed us around and very usefully advised which pubs to avoid! Itâs a superb position for a day at the beach, not far to Seaton and Sidmouth. Excellent for shopping in Honiton, great butchers, wine shop and a plethora of cakes and other treats to be had. Not far into Somerset are Crewkerne and Ilminster for more cakes, art, music and gentle strolling. An absolutely fabulous holiday breakâ¦

Itâs a lovely place with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Great kitchen facilities & gorgeous bedroom. The weather was great so maybe an outside umbrella would be nice so you could sit out on the patio in the shade? The 4 outside cameras were a little disconcerting as I felt I was being watched every time I was outside. I stayed nearly 3 weeks in the end & thought there may have been a clean at some point? Loo roll top up? Also just for owners info when I arrived the clean was a just a skim over - dust, cobwebs on floor behind curtains, in corners, fingerprints on kitchen cabinets, dust on microwave top. Also it was a nightmare trying to extend my stay as Skyes never returned any call backs despite me chasing them over 3 days. In the end I had to rebook online. Not a reflection on the accommodation at all though.

Slightly dated annexe in a lovely part of Devon.
Old Ford Farm Annexe - in some ways - is rather dated and shabby. BUT it is in a beautiful situation in a lovely part of Devon. Yes, the Wi-Fi and mobile strength are both poor and variable. Yes, the bathroom is somewhat basic and small. Yes, the layout of the kitchen is awkward and inconvenient. But it is clean and comfortable - and is ideal for a relaxing holiday with a friendly and helpful host in the adjoining farmhouse. We have stayed in many Sykes cottages over the years and the Old Ford Farm Annexe is one of the best to sit outside and look at the view â¦. read â¦â¦have a coffee? glass of wine ? â¦.. have a snooze? This was our second visit and, hopefully, we will be back again.

Overall the property was great and had everything we needed.
It was clean, tidy and nicely planned out. We were greeted with some local goodies which was a nice touch. Iâd suggest more towels would be useful for a 7 day break and also more toilet roll if possible. We only had some small issues, however these wouldnât stop us coming back. We couldnât get the TV or fire-stick to work as it wouldnât connect to the wifi - luckily we bought our own fire-stick and that worked fine. The sofa is pretty uncomfortable as itâs quite worn down now. The bed is also uncomfortable as itâs a very hard mattress - though some people would like that. Also, we did put the bin out as suggested in the manual, but the rubbish wasnât collected.

Just arrived back from a superb few days in this beautiful cottage.
The facilities were amazing and there was nothing that this cottage didnât have and was lovely and clean . Nice touch of a welcome pack with coffee, fudge, tea bags and biscuits and a great touch. Nice touch of having a light by the front door that went on when you arrived which was really helpful. We bought our dog Hugo and there was already a cover on the sofa which kept muddy pawls to a minimum. We drive a fairly large car and the turn at the bottom is quite tight but manageable and never had any issues. I would like to thank our hosts on making our stay very special (despite the awful weather) and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Steve
