What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Pearson - Verified booking
Bluebell cottage was a great quirky cottage very close to all amenities and also within walking distance to an Aldi and Tesco. The Seaton Tramway was a great day out which you can also walk to from the cottage. The parking permit is for Orchard car park (only a couple of minutes walk away) and is valid for the whole of your stay…we had a bit of confusion when we arrived, so just to clarify. The bed was very comfortable and the tv has all the entertainment you could want. The second bedroom upstairs has another tv in case you have children that want to watch something different. There is a lovely coastal walk from the cottage into Beer, which is well worth a visit. The donkey sanctuary is a short drive away. Sidmouth is around 20mins drive away. I would suggest this is not suitable accommodation for anyone with mobility issues as the staircase is very narrow and quite steep. There is also a step up from the lounge into the kitchen. If this isn’t a problem for you and you want somewhere with convenience and comfort then I would definitely recommend, with the added bonus of being dog friendly!

Turn off the A35 onto Loughwood Road towards Dalwood Village and you instantly travel back 50, 60, 70 years to an age when parents taught their children good manners and people had time for each other.
The narrow lanes seem to regulate the pace of life. No boy racers here! The Cider House is set in peaceful countryside behind a once working farm and what hits you immediately is the silence. Once darkness falls a glance up to the night sky takes your breath away. The house has a pleasant atmosphere and is comfortable but take sundries such as salt and pepper with you. The village boasts a Community Shop which is rather expensive but has some little gems, such as delicious dry cured bacon. The nearest supermarket is 5 miles away in Axminster. The village pub, The Tuckers Arms, is warm and welcoming and serves good food but be sure to book a table. Nearby Lyme Regis (9 miles) is good for seafood but donât expect too much from Honiton Market (it may be better in season, but our visit on an October Tuesday had three stalls). Itâs hard to see how anyone can fail to enjoy their stay at the Cider House. We had a super time.

Bluebell Cottage is beautifully furnished, well equipped and very comfortable, though i must admit i did find the stairs to the top bedroom quite challenging, but good exercise and not much to be done about those without spoiling the character of the cottage, i bet kids love them! Seaton is a friendly seaside town, and we loved walking down to the esplanade and swimming, though the pebble beach is challenging for staying on your feet, beach shoes are essential. Axmouth harbour is fascinating with a narrow fast flowing channel in and out. The tramway is a great way to see Colyton. And the walk to Beer is good, but shame the coast path fell in to the sea a few years back, alot of road walking involved to get back to the cliffs.

We had a lovely little holiday in Bluebell cottage. Great location in Seaton, just a few minutes walk to the shops, pubs and seafront with the added bonus of the car park just behind. Had a bit of confusion with the parking permit but that was soon sorted out for us. Great base to travel to nearby places like Beer, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Bridport to name just a few. The cottage is lovely and cosy, comfy sofas and beds however the stairs really are steep and would be a challenge to young children and people with mobility issues. The garden was a nice plus too, shame the lack of sun didn’t allow us to sit out in it but we still really enjoyed our stay

Our stay was idyllic!
As soon as we turned into the drive all our stresses melted away. Sara met us with a wonderful welcome, and ensured we had everything we needed. She had also made us some freshly baked Apple Cake (wow - it was delicious!) - you will definitely break the diet for it! The Hayloft had it all - warm and cosy with an easy to use log burners, a pristinely clean hot tub and a view across the hills to die for.⥠Bed was ultra comfy, and oh so quiet - we slept like logs. Short walk to the village pub - which was brilliant (food / service the lot) If Carlsberg made weekends for a couple to retreat and de-stress, it would be a stay at the Hayloft!
