Holiday Cottages in Devon

Whether you're coming to Devon for its rolling hills and incredible rock formations on the Jurassic Coast or to see the quaint harbour towns and villages, we can help you find the perfect last-minute cottage to enjoy with your family.

Cottage holidays in Devon

Beaches

Devon has a fantastic range of beaches and coves just waiting for you and your family to enjoy on your last-minute break. Woolacombe in North Devon has an award winning golden sandy beach. Being three miles long and having a mix of waves and shallow waters, it's great for your family and surfers. Both North and South Devon have stunning beaches, and with a last-minute cottage never far away, you and your family can enjoy the beach all day long. Whether surfing, wind sailing, or just soaking up some sun, a day on the beach is never far away in Devon.

Walking

Devon isn't just sun, sea, sand and surfing. Both coastal and inland Devon have fantastic walks for your family to enjoy. It's hard to visit Devon and miss the irresistible Dartmoor National Park, 368 square miles of rolling hills, ancient forests, rivers and Tors that attract countless visitors every year. With walks following ancient rivers, medieval bridges and ancient churches these routes are flexible for less experienced walkers, and a village or town is never too far away. Many coastal walks are available, including the South West Coastal Path, the UK's longest National Trail. Whether you choose to explore the coast or inland Devon, you'll find one of our cottages placed nearby, and with the option of a private pool or hot tubcottage, you can really relax after a long day of walking.

This small, ancient fishing village is filled with cosy pubs and cafés, where you can watch the fleet of small fishing boats come in. It is a beautiful place to visit or stay, with picturesque views around the village. Beer is a quaint town in South Devon, surrounded by rocky cliffs and a lovely pebble beach. With stunning sea views and welcoming pubs, this is a great place to stay if you're looking to explore the South Devon coastline. Mortehoe in North Devon is a few miles north of busy Woolacombe and offers a quiet respite for those looking to get away from the crowds. Wherever you choose to stay, you can be safe knowing that we bring you the lowest price possible and will be there to help you all the way through booking.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Hannah - Verified booking

If you are looking for a wonderful, peaceful place to stay on a break away, Langdale Lodge is a must.

Set on a farm, you have a beautiful view from the living area looking out on to fields, lake and farm animals. We stayed during winter, which at times was quite a wet period but it was lovely, we chose to stay in and lit the fire which warms up the lodge and makes it nice and cosy. One of the most amazing things about the lodge is the wildlife cameras that you can watch. The farm is blessed with lots of wild animals and Mike kindly sends updates if there is anything exciting that comes through during the night. We spent most of our time when in the lodge with it running, periodically checking out what there was about and saw owls, mice, birds, geese, ducks and a rabbit. Those staying over the spring period will have such fun watching the owl houses too if there are owlets! The lodge has great facilities, the bed is comfortable, shower has good power, you can cook using the all in one and stove top. The settee is amazing as it’s a recliner, so you can sit back and relax whilst looking out of the huge window or watching the TV, which has the ability to login to any streaming services you might wish to. The wifi is good if you need to use. If going in better weather, there’s a lovely outdoor seating area on the decking. It’s all enclosed which was perfect for us and our little dog to be out in. We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival and even got to purchase some eggs from the hens on the farm. Thank you also to Mike who allowed us to say hello to the some of the farm animals too which was really special. We look forward to hopefully coming back again in a warmer period to enjoy all the fun things Devon and the lodge has to offer in a different season. Highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location.

Big enough for a family of 4 plus a small dog. The washing machine and dryer were much appreciated in February, we were so muddy every day! The underfloor heating kept the cottage to a comfortable temperature and we used the log burner every night to get super-cosy and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to keep clean and tidy, plenty of storage for food and drinks. Views are OUTSTANDING. The garden was plenty big enough and safe for our little dog to mooch, I can imagine it would be glorious to sit out there in the sunshine but unfortunately we weren't blessed with the weather! Beds are so comfortable, with feather/down duvets and pillows. Towels were soft and easy to wash part-way through our stay. Plenty of sockets to charge devices, most have USB slots too so you don't need to pack the adaptors. No shaver points in the bathrooms so we had to use an adaptor to charge our toothbrush. The location is lovely, just outside the tiny village of Dalwood where the pub is a must-visit. Good location to discover the surrounding towns, although the country lanes nearby have seen better days (bring a spare tyre!). Recommend a visit to Sidmouth, it's a lovely town and most shops are open out of season. We've been a few times and stopped at the Blue Ball pub on the way home.

We originally booked this venue in order to escape from some very dusty carpentry work at our home for a few days.

We needed an accessible building in a quiet area with good facilities and reviews. How LUCKY we were! From the cream tea waiting in the fridge on our arrival to the fabulous, easy to use, wood burning stove. From incredible scenic views through our picture window to the livestream wildlife camera coverage system. The facilities really are first class here. The owner, Mike, is always contactable but never intrusive and always happy to help. We really enjoyed watching the wild birds visiting the feeders from the covered decking area and the antics of a flock of wild geese who seemed to spend much of their time in the paddock between the cabin and the lake below. We didn't do much sightseeing because we already had everything we needed in this wonderfully private and beautiful place. However, we did buy plenty of delicious local farm food within a 5 mile drive, after which a walk to explore the many tracks and fields was most welcome. Don't hesitate to book this very special place if you get the chance! Kind regards, Rosie and Juls.

There is a sign on the door which says “Welcome.

Come in relax and enjoy!” The stresses and strains of daily life ebb away swiftly as one loses ones’ self in the tranquility of the epic vista as the land slopes down through long waving grasses and poppies to the otter-inhabited lake with ducks and teaming wildlife; then climbs to bleating sheep-filled fields: thence to the scene of the historic Prayer Book rebellion of 1549. As one sits outside one watches woodpeckers, finches, robins, redstarts, blackbirds, sparrows, geese, ducks, squirrels, birds of prey, goats, sheep, otters and badgers- all at close quarters. Inside there is a nine camera monitor available 24/7 where one can watch the otters, ducks, badgers and others from the comfort of the sofa. Set on the edge of a very pretty village with church and pub this is a fabulous location for easy to reach travel to both coasts north Cornwall and many pretty villages, market towns and cathedral city. As was once famously said: “I ll be back!”

    This property is absolutely amazing.

Do not hesitate to book as you will not be disappointed. We stayed with our black lab for 4 days and the weather was perfect. He loved the enclosed garden and adjoining field so plenty of lovely walks. Waking up in the morning with the sun shining was a real plus. The living area and bedrooms all looked out onto garden and the rolling hill where the sheep and cows were grazing. We spent many hours sitting on garden furniture just enjoying the scenery and peace and quiet. We needed a well deserved break away and that was exactly what we got. The pictures do not do the views justice. The bed was extremely comfortable with crisp white sheets etc and perfect pillows. Millie was on hand if we needed anything and was most welcoming when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble for her so Thank You Millie for your kindness. Can’t wait to return to this special place. Thanks again M&S and Shadow the black lab. July 2024
