  We loved Bryn Re!

  We stayed for two weeks (with very unsettled weather). The location is fabulous - very remote and very peaceful, with glorious views to the south of Cadair Idris and the Rhinog mountains to the west. We were entertained each evening by a curlew flying around the house and even landing on a nearby fence post. Also the sound of sheep is about as noisy as it gets. Located at the end of a long (1/2 mile?) private drive the cottage is very remote and has lots of rustic charm. It is well furnished, with comfortable reclining chairs and sofa from which to enjoy the log burner (plenty of logs included by the owners). The kitchen and utility room has everything you’d need. We met both the owners who were very friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble it seems. On arrival we found a welcome pack of essential supplies (enough tea, coffee and milk for the first evening) including delicious Welsh cakes and Bara Brith. If you enjoy a quiet stroll to the pub in the evening this is not the cottage to choose! But for relaxing, and peace and quiet, it’s wonderful. There is good hill walking nearby - Cadair Idris is only half and hour away. Good beaches too at Porthmadog and Harlech (only half an hour) and highly recommend a visit to Corris Slate Mine (also only about half an hour away).   This is one of the nicest holiday homes we've stayed in!

  For three adults and a dog, this home was spacious for all of us. The views were stunning. The kitchen/dining area was used a lot, especially for a Sunday Roast we cooked up. The fireplace was a great addition but the home's heating system was enough for us in the first place. The bedrooms were spacious with radiators, and also come with a separate electric heater that does wonders. The bathroom/shower facilities were even better than our own home! In terms of what to do around the area, there were National Parks, Forests, and Bala, and it's also fairly close to Barmouth and an hour's drive to Llandudno. We were lucky with the weather, which is why we got to do so many things. However, in the summer, there would be a lot more out there available for you to do. Overall, we would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a short stay in the North of Wales.

  We had a lovely relaxing week at Aran Cottage although the weather has been a bit wild at times but we were warm and cosy in the cottage with views to die for and watch the kite flying passed the cottage with other birds of prey.

  We have been to Cyffdy before and that week we were able to walk over hills and mountains but this time with the amount of rain over the passed few weeks we decided to walk else where. One day we went down to the white water rapids ,well worth a visit) We did a few walks around Bala down by the river and one sunny day we drove over to Barmouth and had walks along the beach. I would like to say thanks to Steph for the scones,jam,daffodils and card for my birthday which I celebrated there. The cottage is well equipped if you like cooking as I do .The slow cooker is a bonus and also having a television in the kitchen dining room so while you are preparing a meal you can catch up on what ever you want . The garden is dog friendly all the way round the cottage so you do not have to worry about your dog if you let him/she out . We will hopefully be returning

  This was our 2nd visit to Cyffdy cottages, this time staying in Aran as we thought the larger 2nd bedroom would suit our growing children.

  Cottage was lovely and the views were just stunning even with a glimpse of the lake from some windows. Plenty of enclosed outdoor space for our dog to safely wander outside the cottage and a lovely balcony area with outdoor seating to enjoy those magnificent views. Lovely to have the donkeys in the field next to us and they even began to recognise us when we came back after a day out! The grounds of Cyffdy are immaculate and provide a lovely space for the children to have a play. The trampoline and football goal are fab and nice for the children to have a little safe space. There are so many things to do in the surrounding areas to keep you very busy but it was always lovely to come back to our peaceful cottage at the end of the day where we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing break. Thank you again, we really didn’t want to go home!

  A lovely little cottage and the garden is just WOW!

  !! The kids and dog have spent so much time exploring and in the river, even the rain didn't stop us enjoying the garden - plenty of seating areas. The garden is not accessible directly from the cottage, you go through the owners gate at end of drive (there is a small patio attached to cottage) however it is fully enclosed for the dog and kids to fully enjoy, there is also an outdoor toilet in the garden so no need to too and fro to the house, just pack up snacks and towels and all the time can be spent in garden. The owners are lovely and so helpful, leaving us snacks in cottage and bringing more down one evening we were in garden. The owners dogs are kept seperate and the owners were not intrusive at all just left us to enjoy their amazing space. We will definitely be back!
