About this property

Bryn Barcud Bach is an eco-friendly holiday cottage located in the small hamlet of Trofarth, three miles from the village of Eglwysbach, above the Conwy Valley. Dating back to the 17th century this charming cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside with fantastic views across the forests and fields. Enjoy walking, biking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park, lazy days on the beach, or simply while away the days with a quiet morning coffee, a peaceful read of a good book or evening glass of wine as you soak up the tranquil atmosphere in this beautiful corner of Wales. Sleeping two in one double bedroom, Bryn Barcud Bach is the perfect getaway for either a relaxing romantic retreat or for adventurous couples looking for an active self-catering break.

Bryn Barcud Bach is a single storey holiday cottage for two located in a small rural hamlet above the Conwy Valley. Dating back to the 17th century, this pretty cottage was once the milking parlour for a small dairy farm. Whilst it has retained much of its’ character and charm, it is now a modern eco-friendly holiday cottage, using solar panels, providing a perfect cosy retreat for a relaxing romantic getaway.

Just three miles away, the pretty village of Eglwysbach is a fantastic spot to enjoy countryside walks followed by a leisurely lunch in the Bee Inn. Green fingered enthusiasts will love a day out at the National Trust’s Bodnant Gardens. The stunning laburnum arch definitely shouldn’t be missed if you are visiting in Spring. Stock up on goodies afterwards at the Bodnant Welsh food centre. The modern kitchen at Bryn Barcud Bach has everything you would need for a self-catering holiday, but if you would prefer a night off cooking the local pub is less than a 15-minute walk away. Alternatively, head into the medieval walled town of Conwy where you will find a number of restaurants, pubs and cafes, as well as galleries, independent shops and the infamous Conwy castle. Much, much more is to be found in Deganwy, Llandudno, Rhos-on-Sea, Colwyn Bay and Llanrwst, all within striking distance of the cottage.

A little further afield, the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park provides the perfect playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Climb to the top of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), enjoy lakeside strolls, or try your hand at climbing. Just outside Betws-y-Coed, keen mountain bikers can enjoy the Gwydir Mawr Trail, or true adventure seekers can test their metal at Go Below where you will find yourself climbing, scrambling, abseiling and zip lining, - you  can even trampolene or enjoy a round of golf deep underneath Snowdonia! For a more traditional experience, there are many golf courses in the area.  For anyone who cannot resist a day at the beach, you have plenty to choose from. Or enjoy a bracing stroll along the North Wales coastal path.

With walks from the front door, and fantastic beaches and Snowdonia National Park just a short drive away, outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice for things to do. Alternatively, simply sit back, relax and enjoy the local wildlife and tranquil surroundings.
