Holiday Cottages In Snowdonia

Snowdonia National Park is the oldest national park in Wales. Established in 1951, Snowdonia covers 823 square miles, 52% of which is covered by mountain ranges. This makes Snowdonia a fantastic place for hikers and adventurers. Find your base camp with Last Minute Cottages and discover our wide selection of cottages and great deals in this beautiful national park.

Holidays in Snowdonia

Quiet Hikes

350,000 people take on Mount Snowdon each year, making it a very busy mountain but there others to try. Tryfan is a nice mix of hiking and mountaineering but recommended for well-equipped climbers. Cader Idris Peak's summit is at 2,930 feet and is a popular hike to conquer. These mountains offer a quieter, often more pleasant climb, especially during warm weather. Rest up after a tough day's climb in a cottage, complete with a hot tub for total muscle relaxation.

Family Walks

If you're looking for more accessible adventures with young children, perhaps try the Cwm Idwal walk. This three mile walk along mountain paths is only moderately strenuous and follows Llyn Idwal, a lake formed by the ice thousands of years ago. After your day's walk, enjoy a cosy cottage and snuggle up in front of the fire. Safe in the knowledge that we only give you the best deals, and our customer service team is always on hand should you need anything.

Other Adventures

If you and your family or group of friends are looking for some thrills of a more extreme variety, then Snowdonia is the perfect place for you. From Bear Grylls Survival School, where you'll learn survival techniques and other exciting activities such as climbing and paintball, to Zip World, home to the fastest zipline in the world. With whitewater rafting, kite surfing and mountain biking, there is so much to do in Snowdonia. After all the excitement of your adventure, you'll want a good nights sleep in one of our last-minute cottages to be ready for what the next day has in store.

Where to Stay in Snowdonia

Towns and Villages

Many small towns and villages are tucked into Snowdonia's mountainous landscape. Betws y Coed is commonly known as the gateway to Snowdonia. The village has a train station and is on the main A5 road, making it very accessible to tourists. Beddgelert, known as the most beautiful village in Snowdonia, lives up to its name. With nearby walks and cycling available, you can also explore an old copper mine deep underground and take a scenic railway with magnificent views. There are stunning villages and towns all over Snowdonia. If you fall in love with one, see if we have a cottage nearby that's perfect for you and book it at the very last-minute.

Where to visit in Snowdonia

  • Betws y Coed is known to many as the gateway to Snowdonia.
  • Blaenau Ffestiniog is a self-made centre for adventure.
