What our customers say about their holidays

  • Richard - Verified booking

We had a marvellous holiday, in no small part down to the quality and location of the accommodation.

Darren saw us on departure and was keen to make sure everything had been to our liking. The property had everythiing we anticipated and more - particularly with basics like essential food (e.g. bread, spread, tea, coffee, jam, milk, fruit squash), ample loo rolls, washing and cleansing products and so on. We have often found it necessary to take these with us so that we can settle in without having to rush to a supermarket as soon as we have unpacked. It made the start of our holiday relaxed and we were able to get all our favourite items the following day. On top of this there were some much appreciated luxury treats like local fruit bread, a bottle of wine, scones and the like. The location was perfect to explore the old town of Conwy with it's historical interest and the scenic marina. Fresh fish and mussels from the quayside were a highlight that we were able to take advantage of with being self catering. We also found the local butcher/delicatessen had very high quality produce that gave an excuse for some indulgence! We are keen walkers and the local surroundings give almost unlimited opportunity for hill and beach walking. We took full advantage and were lucky enough to only have one day of non-stop rain. The Albion P.H. just a few doors away offered excellent ale and friendly company during the deluge!

The house was much better than expected.

we have stayed in a number of large houses with our 3 generations family of 8 - but this was by far the nicest, cleanest and in the best location. The house was spotless and everything was very new and the renovation was carried out to a very high standard. there was every item you could possibly need in the house too, no detail was missed. the beds were comfy, the electronics supplied were great, the furnishing were of a high standard, the bathrooms in great condition and no water pressure issues. the only thing we had a slight issue with was getting wifi reception in the living room - not sure if it was the thick walls or the tv location, but everywhere else in the house it was fine. it is very central, within easy walking distance to the each, restaurants, shops, bars, and all the activities available in Llandudno. We always got parked outside the house or within a few meters. there is lots of room for large groups /families, the house is much bigger than the photos appear. the orangery is beautiful addition and such a nice place for breakfast. the garden area is lovely if you get the weather to eat alfresco. We would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return one day soon.

    This is a wonderful property.

It is in superb condition and every thing provided is provided with guest comfort in mind. The property is large and beautifully furnished and decorated. There wasn't really anything I could think of that was missing, even down to tea, coffee and milk provided for our arrival. The Orangery is superb and a wonderful place to sit and relax no matter what the weather. There is a lovely courtyard for sitting too, only disappointed that the weather wasn't really good enough to sit out there in the evening, although we did have 5 youngsters with us who did spend time outside and did enjoy the safety of the courtyard. The property is located in a really good position within easy walking distance of shops, promenade and beach. There is parking for one car and plenty of on street parking too. As a family party of 12 we sometimes find properties a bit of a squeeze but certainly not this one. Plenty of room to escape if a quiet moment required. The owner was very nice and helpful and you felt that he really wanted you to enjoy the time spent in his beautiful house. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in this lovely house and have a wonderful holiday despite the weather not being too good.

We have never been to Conwy before but from the very start of our stay we were met with care and hospitality we will never forget.

The hosts for the Old Sweet Shop, Darren and Surita, left us a lovely surprise of some wine, nibbles and treats for our dog and even decorated the house in Halloween decorations and left a massive bunch of Halloween style things for my little boy. This was a lovely touch and set the tone for the rest of the stay. The accommodation is on two floors but also has a little basement with some kids games and a study if you can handle the 5 foot headroom. The space is used extremely well and all fixtures, fittings, equipment and furnishing was a very nice standard and something we would be happy to have in our own home. I was a little confused as to where to park my car but we sorted it out quickly and didn’t use it all that much as there is so much to see and do in little Conwy. We went to Llandudno and Bewts-Y-Coed as well, both of which were lovely. Definitely recommended and will more than likely return for a cheeky break at some point in the future. 5 stars from the adults, 5 stars from the child and, if she could speak, 5 stars from our pooch.

Our Weeks stay at Ty Conwy was a comfortable stay, The decor was very well done.

It was a nice staging post for seeing the sites around parts of North Wales & the hot tub at the property was a real bonus & a great thing to have. We did have a couple of issues, we had trouble with the tv, netflicks stopped working & we could not get the BBC channels, I called the owner, Adam & he told me a previous guest back in July had messed up the system, he did tell me how to fix the problem, I filled his instructions, but for me they did not work, so it was a bit of inconvenience, but I did have my own netflicks on my laptop so we could watch it through the tv & we could watch the BBC channels through the BBC Iplayer. All the windows in the house could have done with a good clean, especially the front one in the lounge as the dirt was highlighted when the sun came around in the late afternoon, there were also cobwebs on the outside & inside of the patio doors & cobwebs on the back of the dining table on the left-hand side & they had all been there for a while, so that was a bit of a letdown
