Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Barn is in an ideal location sitting on the border of Dorset and Devon and close to Somerset also. This superbly constructed barn style property provides spacious and well-appointed accommodation for four guests.
The Barn is located in the quaint village of Holditch, a hamlet within Thorncombe, just a 16 minute drive away from the bustling market town of Axminster, or 20 minutes away from charming Beaminster.
With an open-plan kitchen and dining room and adjoining sitting room with wood burning stove, The Barn is perfect for a family holiday or a break with friends. The generous accommodation includes a spacious king-size master suite with a sitting area and television, dressing area, and an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath. The second bedroom has twin single beds and its own en-suite shower room. A large utility room and separate boot room completes the attractive accommodation.
Outside, the property has a pretty sheltered courtyard garden with garden furniture, and in front of the property is a large lawned garden with fruit trees affording wonderful views across the glorious countryside.
The popular seaside towns of Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Seaton are just a pleasant drive away, and Axminster with its shops and cafes is under five miles.
Nearby there is also the delightful The Byre which can also accommodate up to four guests, and both properties can be booked together subject to availability for parties of up to eight guests.

The Barn was lovely and no problems with the accommodation, but we had a major problem as the EV charger was not working. We contacted you and were put through to a local property manager who we talked to but never came back to us. The occupants of the other property on the site were in the same position. It was very fortunate that we had recharged a bit on the way down as it was a long journey from Buxton and the battery was quite low when we arrived. The journey down was stressful, finding the charger did not work added to this. The main reason for our visit was to visit our son's grave so we were pretty stressed out anyway, and this added to that. We did manage to get to the grave the next day but then had to find a charger that was not being used. We did this eventually in Lyme Regis but had to wait for one of them to be free and download an App - none of which wanted to work, so we were pretty cheesed off and upset by this time. It wasted several hours of our holiday. We also had to go back to Lyme Regis on the day before we left to get the car charged up again, so went to the museums etc but this was not what we had planned. This really did detract from the week's break. Someone left us a bottle of wine on the door step, but we don't feel this was a true reflection of the angst the failure caused. We would have preferred a working charger.

Great barn for 2-4 people. Well equipped kitchen in beautifully renovated Barn . Great spot between Axminster and Chard.

The Barn was clean , comfortable and all finished to a very high standard. All the essentials one needs for a week away are provided (and more besides) It seems quite isolated at first if you are used to wide city streets but its actually only about 10 minutes on the single track road to the main Axminster/Chard road and you rarely see another vehicle . I think we had to reverse back to a pull in on a single track road twice in a week.The benefit of the location is how peaceful it is . Beautiful garden and I can imagine a great place to be on warmer days and nights when you have plenty of space to sit out, drink a glass of wine and watch the stars. Bonus to have an electric car charger at a reasonable rate to charge up overnight. They have thought of everything in my view. The upstairs layout gives plenty of privacy as well should two couples or a family be sharing
