Whilst Mimosa is a nice cottage and the owners are accommodating, it needs a little updating. The main bathroom looks tired and does not have a shower over the bath(as described on cottages.com) so we had to use the wet room shower. The paintwork is a bit sketchy and the entrance wasn’t very clean when we got there. The patio could have done with a sweep to remove all the tree debris so you don’t track them inside the property on your shoes. The garden is private ish but can be accessed by other people, as we found out with someone just wandering around from one of the other cottages! The property is all on one level but is accessed via a steep driveway. It sits on a hill with a fairly steep walk to the beach so be aware of this if you’re looking for somewhere you can walk easily to a beach (described as “short distance level walk to chesil beach”) especially if you have disabled/elderly/wheelchair users. The kitchen is not overly well equipped if you wish to cook and the welcome pack, although it’s nice to have a tin of biscuits and some milk sachets, a few tea bags/coffee sachets would have been most welcome after our 5 hour drive.

What really sells this cottage is its beautiful setting and grounds. A wonderful location and a really comfortable cottage. The owners were very helpful and accommodating and we would certainly recommend Mimosa. Would love to return in the future.
