A delightful East Devon hideaway for couples and small families, this inviting cottage is perfect for discovering the beauty of the Jurassic Coast. Nestled in the village of Beer, 1.5 miles from Seaton and 8 miles from Sidmouth, this two-bedroom retreat sleeps four guests. Pack your swimming costumes and towels and stroll 0.5 miles down to the beach to paddle in the sea and take in the dramatic coastal views. The beach at Seaton, 1.5 miles away, is a longer stretch and is also popular for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Branscombe Beach, 2.5 miles away, is a favourite with those who enjoy rockpooling. Venture 9.5 miles into Lyme Regis to potter in the shops, dine out, and spend time on the sand hunting for fossils. Keen walkers will find an array of superb footpaths and trails in the area, including, of course, the famous South West Coast Path. Head back to the cottage after days on the beach and exhilarating, long coastal walks.
Climb the short flight of steps to the front of the property and enter to find yourselves in the cosy lounge. Settle on the sofas, both colourfully adorned with throws, and take a few moments to relax after your adventures. Chat, play a game, or find your favourite programme on the Smart TV. Amble through to the kitchen/diner at the back of the cottage to put the kettle on for a cup of tea. Pull a chair out from under the table to enjoy your hot drink with a freshly baked scone topped with Devon jam and clotted cream. Open the door to the garden on fine days as you prepare dinner in here too, then call everyone to join you for your hearty feast. Make your way up the stairs to the first floor of the cottage, where your lovely bedrooms await. Here, you have a bright double and a cheerful twin in which to rest and recuperate. The modern family bathroom, where you can rinse under the shower or soak in the bath, is also on this level.
Carry your breakfast out into the sunshine of the courtyard garden on sunny mornings, or dine under the stars on balmy evenings. Bring your ecstatic four-legged friend and let him pad about freely.
