Our stay at Piglet Cottage was like a home from home vibe with added extras… peaceful surroundings and an amazing hot tub. The welcome biscuits, raspberry lemonade, milk and eggs were a lovely surprise. The location was perfect, remote and tranquil yet not too far from various places. While in East Devon, we visited Honiton, Crealy’s, South Devon Railway with a visit to the Butterfly and Otter Sanctuary and Canonteign Falls. Piglet Cottage is one of three; private and a well equipped converted barn. The open plan kitchen and living area is ideal for families. A TV and XBox were available and also a variety of board games and books. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of space for your belongings. The beds were so comfortable. My 11 year old son fell in love with how soft the bedding felt. He has begged me to buy the same brand for his bed! The bathroom was clean and airy with a shower that was delightful. An added extra was that there was plenty of toilet rolls not just the standard one left on the toilet roll holder next to the loo (like other places you stay). Our favourite part of our stay has to be the hot tub. It is situated in the back garden over looking a forest with leads to wonderful walks into nature. We used the tub during the day, early evening but the most beautiful time was at night. Laying beneath the stars in the bubbles was an amazing experience. Throughout the cottage there are sweet tokens of animals everywhere from pictures, ornaments and even a piggy egg timer! It’s just a remarkable little place. Even the owners cats are friendly as I loved my fuss from Teddy. We will be back next time with our two dogs that’s for sure. Thank you Julie for being such a wonderful host.
