Nestled in the historic heart of the City of Lights, on a picturesque Parisian Street, you'll find Apartment Maelys. Boasting an elegant and classical interior, this apartment is spacious and impeccably furnished while retaining its old-school, vintage charm. There is one double bedroom and one bathroom perfect for a couple's getaway, while the large living room makes the ideal gathering spot for a soirée with friends.
Apartment Maelys is a book lover's heaven, as the corridor and living room boast a wide bookcase brimming with classics. As soon as you enter the apartment, you'll fall in love with its charismatic interior, with black-and-white photographs adorning the walls and an intricately designed carpet, a luxurious entrance into this charming hideaway.
Furnished with dark wood, an elegant bookcase, and antique-style furnishings, the living room feels rather grandiose, making you feel as though you've entered a magnificent old university. Artwork and ornamental furnishings pepper every wall and corner, and a central coffee table is surrounded by comfortable chairs and a sofa. The living room is also complete with a polished wood dining table with four chairs. A sumptuously cosy space for winter evenings, Apartment Maelys, is also ideal for a summer getaway, as two large windows frame the lounge walls, so you can let the fresh air fill the apartment while peeking out at your picturesque street, feeling as though you're in an old French film!
Fully equipped, the kitchen has a more modern and effortless feel, providing you with everything you'll need for your stay, including a Nespresso coffee machine. There's also plenty of storage space for you to stock up on groceries. After an evening out trying some delicious local cuisine or a chilled night in your apartment trying some divine French wine, you'll be ready to sink into your comfortable double bed, made up with crisp white linen and towels. With a similar design to the lounge, you'll love waking up in this elegantly designed room adorned with paintings and an enormous window for you to let in the morning air.
Finally, you'll find the bathroom. With a spacious shower and a mixture of light and dark grey walls and furnishings, this is the perfect space to unwind and pamper yourself with some of the toiletries provided for you. You'll also find an additional guest toilet in the corridor for added convenience.
In the city's bustling Latin Quarter, Apartment Maelys sits in an attractive, authentic Parisian apartment block. One of the most charming and picturesque neighbourhoods in Paris, the area is rich in history with a vibrant nightlife, cultural and gastronomy scene. You won't be short of things to do here, and your enviable central spot means you can immerse yourself in city life, living like a local for the duration of your stay!
Located on the left bank of the stunning River Seine, you'll find Apartment Maelys in the city's vibrant Latin Quarter. The ideal spot for a young couple itching to experience the authentic Parisian lifestyle, you're bound to be charmed by the area's bohemian atmosphere and friendly vibe. History buffs and art lovers will be keen to visit historical buildings such as the Pantheon, a neoclassical building with an astonishing dome associated with iconic French figures, including Voltaire and Rousseau. The area is also home to the world-famous and prestigious Sorbonne University, boasting a rich history and stunning architecture that you won't want to miss.
Offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling town, you should pay a visit to the Luxembourg Gardens, a serene park spanning over 60 acres and featuring a gorgeous garden, splendid fountains and a large pond. There is simply something for everyone in your eclectic neighbourhood, whether that's a gentle wander through nature with a coffee and pastry or a morning of learning and sightseeing at a local museum. If you fancy a bite to eat after a busy day, be sure to head to Rue Mouffetard, a lively street boasting a variety of food shops and restaurants.
The metro is by far the easiest and most efficient way to explore the city, and you are within walking distance of public transport. Venturing out of your local neighbourhood, you might want to visit the trendy neighbourhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, particularly if you're an academic or history lover! This was once the home of Paris's intellectual life and many famous French philosophers. Today, you can visit many cosy cafes and haute-couture boutiques if you fancy a spot of shopping! The historic charm of your nearby neighbourhoods almost mirrors that of your apartment itself, and you'll also experience this if you visit Le Marais. Home to many museums and galleries, including the Musée Picasso and the Musée Carnavalet, art lovers will be in paradise.
While there are endless attractions to visit in the City of Lights, the best way to absorb the Parisian spirit is to wander around leisurely, taking in the sights as you go. Whether that's chilling in a cosy café with a hot chocolate, wandering around a park with a delicious French pastry, or browsing around the incredible department store of Galeries Lafayette, there simply isn't one list of 'must-see' attractions as the charm of this city resonates in every corner, street, building and tradition. Suppose this is your second or third visit to Paris. In that case, you might want to plan a more specific itinerary, for example, more culinary-related experiences for the foodies or a cultural tour of galleries and museums for the history enthusiasts.
However, if you're lucky enough to stay in Apartment Maelys for your first-ever trip to Paris, there are some unmissable sights to tick off your bucket list. The Louvre Museum, one of the most prestigious in the world, contains thousands of artworks and historical treasures. You may be overwhelmed by the sheer vastness of this magnificent place, so we recommend a stroll around the Louvre Courtyard or the charming Tuileries gardens if you're feeling a little exhausted! Finally, no first-timer's trip to Paris would be complete without a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. You certainly don't have to climb it to get the full experience. Be mesmerised as you watch it twinkling in the dark from one of the city's many picturesque bridges, savouring these unmissable moments with your family or significant other.
