Nenagh 6.8 miles. This detached, stone cottage is set in a tranquil countryside setting, 6.8 miles from the quaint village of Nenagh, County Tipperary. Perfect for a family getaway, Shannonvale cottage exudes traditional charm and character from the moment you walk through the door. Comfortably renovated, the property features three bedrooms offering flexible sleeping arrangements to suit almost any group. The traditional fireplace, walls and floors are complemented by a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, so put your feet up and relax in style after each day spent discovering this idyllic region. Outside there are spacious lawned areas where the kids can run freely while you sit back and take in the glorious view. From the cottage there are plenty of footpaths and outdoor trails to venture on, giving you chance to capture the true beauty of the area. The nearby villages of Dromineer and Puckane offer a few pubs and local shops, or head further afield to the town of Nenagh for a greater choice of amenities and attractions, including the fascinating Nenagh Castle. With Lough Derg nearby, there are many different activities available, such as fishing, cycling, golf and horse riding, as well as walking and hiking. Nenagh also has a genealogy centre which is renowned for people looking up their ancestors. Further afield, with excellent motorway links, the city of Limerick is within easy driving distance and boasts King Johns Castle and the Hunt Museum. For further day trips, visit County Clare where you can explore discover the bustling town of Ennis or the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. The county of West Clare may also be worth a visit, with its spectacular seascapes and picturesque beaches. An idyllic retreat to be enjoyed throughout the year.
The village of Nenagh is situated in County of Tipperary and rests close to the banks of Lough Derg, the second largest lake in the Republic of Ireland. The village offers plenty to see and do, including paying a visit to its Heritage Centre and its wonderfully restored castle. You can enjoy many watersports activities at Lough Derg, plus you are within close reach are the towns of Puckane and Portumna, well worth a visit.
