About this property

Quigley’s Point 3.7 miles. Grannys Cottage is a delightful single-storey property resting in Lemacrossan near Quigley’s Point, boasting views across Loch Foyle, and is an ideal base for a small family or couple looking to explore County Donegal. Park off-road and be welcomed by this white-painted property, entering through a stylishly finished hall, where a leather two-seater allows guests to catch up on a good book with views across the countryside. Enter into a delightfully furnished open-plan living space with large windows allowing for countryside views, wooden beams and a charming exposed stone wall housing an ambient woodburning stove, creating a real sense of character within this space. Here guests can make the most of the good selection of amenities settled into the red kitchen, and serve their meal at the dining table, before curling up in the chairs beside the fire with a glass of their favourite beverage. When sleep calls, freshen up in the bathroom, before cosying up into one of the three well presented bedrooms, choosing between a double with an en-suite shower room and access to a utility, a further double, and a single. Outside, there is a bench from which guests can enjoy the views as they sip their morning coffee. Lemacrossan is a tranquil rural location with walks available through the countryside at Camowen River Bog and Illies Hill Bog, ideal for birdwatching and taking in the countryside air, and there is also the option of the Crumlish Way Hike; Inishowen is also brimming with lovely walking routes, where you can make the most of the walking poles provided by the owner. For a local shop and pub, head over to Quigley’s Point, where there is the option of The Point Inn or Callaghan's Bar. Visit Wild Ireland to see the incredible animals that reside there, or for more amenities and attractions head over to Londonderry, where there is a local museum, The Derry Walls, St Columb’s Park, and The Peace Bridge, plus a selection of tasty eateries and pubs. For a day at the seaside head over to Magilligan Beach, Culdaff Beach or Buncrana Beach. All of this and so much more with a stay at the wonderful Grannys Cottage.

The little village of Quigley’s Point, also known as Carrowkeel, is situated in County Donegal, on the eastern shores of Inishowen and overlooking the wide expanse of Lough Foyle. It is situated on the main road between Derry City and Moville and is a key Junction for travelers heading for most areas of North Inishowen. The village is home to some basic amenities, including a local pub, The Point Inn, a small bar and a village store stocking cupboard essentials. The nearby fishing village of Muff offers a greater selection of amenities, as well as hosting the annual Muff Festival each summer and offers visitors a superb base for touring North Donegal.

Rural enough to feel peaceful but still close to amenities.

Not huge but perfectly adequate it for a single person - with dog!.- a couple or two couples. Scrupulously clean and well equipped - wi-fi, Netflix etc. Spectacular views of surrounding countryside, excellent privacy but shopping available in nearby Quigley's Point. Welcoming hosts who left a bottle of wine, nice scones and butter and jam. Very ample supplies of peat and firewood - very nice for an open fire on a cold winter night but also has central heating. Very competitively priced and worth every penny. The surrounding beaches are well worth visiting. Some are nice but small but others are well worth taking a dog to for great walks. I would especially recommend Culdaff, Five Fingers Strand, Kinnagoe Bay, Tullach Bay and Porthaw. Do visit Malin Head. The view is awesome. P.S. Make sure to get detailed direction instructions to the cottage from the owners. Otherwise could be difficult locating the cottage. Overall one shuld have a great stay.
