In association with Trinity House, Snaptrip is pleased to present S44757 at Trevose Head Lighthouse.
Verity is one of four holiday cottages available at the lighthouse which is located on a headland between the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays, four miles west of Padstow. The Lighthouse was built in 1847, electrified in 1973 and automated in 1995. The site is not open to the public and the four cottages are sheltered beneath a headland and are 75' above the sea, accessed via a one-mile-long private road. Fine views out to sea and the chance to watch fishing boats coming in and out of Padstow.
The cottages are semi-detached, with the lighthouse positioned in the middle. At the front, there is a communal tarmac forecourt with parking. To the rear, on the sea side, there is a shared, walled, grass area which is fenced at the cliff edge. (In the interest of safety, it is recommended that guests do not use this space). The South West Coast path runs round the headland and on towards Padstow.

"Beautifully clean and well kept holiday cottage in a stunning location."

"S44757 continues to be an absolute favourite for the location, (as well as Captain's at Marazion). It was great to see the newly refurbished bathroom, although the shape of the angular wash basin was very close to the door. A new lavatory brush to match, would have been a preferable addition. The White Company toiletries are super. The CD player has vanished, some guests do still like to play CDs, so apart from using the television, there is no other radio. The new bed was also a welcome improvement, there are many more locked cupboards than before, leaving little hanging wardrobe space. We are aware that the kitchen is soon to be renewed, however, some of the crockery requires replacing, there are very few dishes, only a very large casserole. Every dinner plate is chipped and mugs are not of the calibre of previous visits. Instructions for appliances are not obvious or easy to find, (cooker). The housekeeper entered the cottage, without prior notice, to leave the Visitors' books, whilst we were out."

"Wonderful location, comfortable cottage. Spotlessly clean and a lovely local hamper. China & cutlery a bit tired. Please oil the padlock on the gate very difficult trying to turn the numbers for the code. Great holiday would love to try another Snaptrip lighthouse."

"Only 1 thing could have made it better. A radio in the kitchen please. Otherwise everything was excellent."

"The cottage is wonderful, our fourth time back - or is it fifth? Delightful housekeeper, and a lovely welcome hamper."

"Very high standard of housekeeping. We have stayed in this cottage many times, it is our favourite, but sadly the interior is now a little tired and showing its age. We do love it though."

"S44757 is in a wonderful location, just needs some TLC!!"

"Fantastic location - really quiet. Housekeeper excellent with great welcome basket. Bathroom needs some upgrading. Grouting poor, bath panel falling off, radiator not working & ventilation poor. Bathroom was constantly wet/damp and couldn't leave towels in there to dry thus draped all round cottage."

"Our stay at S44757 was amazing. We loved every second. The location was literally breathtaking and the cottage was impeccably clean when we got there and the welcome hamper was amazing. It had everything. We will use Snaptrip again for sure. It was really first class."

"Mould around the bath needs to be fixed as it gives the wrong impression. The welcome hamper was excellent."

"Lovely location, very well prepared and equipped, extremely comfortable and by far the best welcome hamper we've had at any Rural Retreat, or anywhere else for that matter. (Which does make me wonder whether Caroline is adding to it herself, or if she is using the allowance I assume she receives, how come other Housekeepers include so much less!)"

"Lovely comfortable cottage. Cream teas when we arrived. All local produce. We intend to work our way around the coast. Maybe sally port next. Magical places"

"S44757, was beautifully warm, welcoming and comfortable. The 1 mile down to the lighthouse is exciting - the view from the cottage over the sea is fantastic. We had large waves caused by high winds, hailstones etc - made it very atmospheric. A fantastic few days !!"

"we loved everything about the cottage and the location except for the bed! You seriously need to change the beds- its not the 1970's! Desperate need of firmer mattresses that are better for our backs. Caroline the housekeeper was amazing with high standards and a fantastic welcome for us- she really goes the extra mile."

"Our 3rd Christmas Lighthouse stay having been to Bull Point in Devon & Pendeen last year. Our first thoughts are how cosy this cottage is. We felt at home straight away. A lovely welcome & welcome hamper and a really nice Christmas Tree. The heating had been put on for us which as it was blowing a gale was lovely. DAY 1 - The walk from the Lighthouse via the Coastal Path to Harlyn Bay, across to Constantine & Booby's Bay is also fabulous. About 6 miles circular. DAY 2 - A meander around Padstow and lunch - Lovely. DAY 3 - Christmas Day! Pressies & Food! DAY 4 - Boxing Day walk. From the cottage via Booby's Bay & Constantine to Porthcothan Bay. Wow! What a walk. It's about 8 miles circular but we cut it a bit shorter by driving to Constatine Bay first. It's the most dramatic of walks made more so by 50mph winds! Absolutely stunning! DAY 5 - Drive to Bedruthan Steps - lovely although the steps are closed Nov - Feb. Lovely little tea shop too. On to Padstow for a little walk & drink in the Shipwright (mussel's lovely there). DAY 6 - Walked from 'home' to Booby's Bay, to Constantine, inland across to Harlyn and back via the lifeboat station. Tide was a lot lower than the first day & managed to see the remains of the Shipwreck on Booby's Bay. You need to be on the sands to see the metal remains (we had looked for a couple of days around the rocks!). Packing tonight and very sad to be doing so. We've had a truly fabulous week and a wonderful Christmas. We will most certainly be back - we love S44757. We can't wait to come back. This is our favourite Lighthouse Cottage so far in the most wonderful location & the most comfortable bed ever! Hope you enjoy it as much as we have. The Spencer's"
