Soak up the remarkable architecture, chocolate box thatch house and vintage cars before you arrive at your 16th century cottage. Unpack, pour a G&T and settle into this traditional yet very stylish cottage. Gather in the sociable kitchen for a sumptuous meal, and as night falls, grab a blanket and either sit under the stars or cosy up in living room, complete with a traditional wood burner. Should cooking not be on your agenda, take a short stroll down the hill, where you will find two local pubs to choose from, both serving traditional ales and dining.
With picture perfect honey hued villages in abundance, you can spend your afternoon getting lost in the antique shops, cafes and independent shops in the nearby villages and market towns of Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden. As you meander see if you can spot the famous gargoyle and teapot! Blockley itself is a lovely village, with an award winning community café and shops selling groceries, wine and fresh bread. There is a fantastic gym for the active holiday goers and a vibrant social scene. It is surrounded by open fields and just south of Shakespeares birth place, so a day trip to nearby Stratford upon Avon is a must.
No matter what the weather or season you won’t be short on things to see and do. Culture, wildlife, adventure parks, breweries, cycling and walking are all on your doorstep. Why not don your walking boots, pack up a picnic and trek some or all of the Cotswold way, with 160km of outstanding natural beauty awaiting your footsteps. There are lots of easy routes that make it fun for all. However you choose to spend your time at Lily Cottage, you won’t be disappointed.
