With the wonderful Chastworth House, Haddon Hall and the thrilling Alton Towers close by, Cornerpin Cottage is the perfect place to stay.. Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: With wood burner, Freesat TV, DVD player, iPod dock/CD player, beams and tiled floor.
Kitchen: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer and tiled floor.
Shower room: With shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.. First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With double bed.. Electric central heating (underfloor in living/dining room and kitchen), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Welcome pack. . Courtyard with garden furniture. 1 small dog welcome. Private parking for 1 car; additional on road parking. No smoking.. Cornerpin Cottage really is a little gem, ideally located on the edge of the Peak District National Park. This wonderful detached property has been renovated to a very good standard, whilst retaining its original, quirky character. Enter through the door and you will be greeted by a cosy living room with dining area and the all-important wood burner for those cold winter evenings. The kitchen has all the mod cons one could ask for. Up the winding staircase you will find two double bedrooms with wonderful views over the countryside, a great place to enjoy your morning cup of tea. You also have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful walks right from the door. The owners have supplied a range of maps and directions for walks around the villages, so you can find the prettiest footpaths and the best views.
Outside, there is off road parking for one car plus a stone patio area with furniture to enjoy.
This area is steeped in history with the famous National Tramway Museum a particular favourite with visitors. Matlock sits just a few miles away offering shops, pubs, tea rooms and restaurants, as well as attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham which offer guests amazing views of the gorge from the cable cars that take you to the top. Nearby you will discover the high peak cycle trail providing wonderful experiences for all.
Travel a little further to the north and you will find the market town of Bakewell with the famous bakewell tart to sample! Try not to miss the many historic houses dotted around such as Chatsworth House and Park, Haddon Hall and Hardwick. For those thrill seekers amongst you, you are not far from the amazing Alton Towers. A fabulous time to be had by everyone! Shop and pub 1 mile, restaurant 1½ miles.
