The National Trust s Clumber Park (19 miles) is great for walking and cycling, and if you re a fan of the arrow slinging vigilante Robin Hood, head to Sherwood Forest (15.5 miles) to find the mighty Major Oak tree. Rufford Abbey with its lake and playpark is also just 10 miles away. Southwell is 6 miles away with its famous minster along with independent shops and cafes. Newark on Trent is 7 miles away where you can find lots to do from picnics in the castle grounds to taking a boat trip on the river to a visiting to the civil war museum. Step into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner and put your feet up on the comfortable sofa in front of the TV after a day exploring the countryside.
