Holland-on-Sea, located just 2 miles from Clacton-on-Sea, is a great place to enjoy coastal walks along the coarse sand. Why not visit the neighbouring town of Walton-on-the-Naze and dig for sharks teeth or fossils on the beach. You could always take a step back in time to the uncommercialised seaside town of Frinton-on-Sea, with its wide, white sandy beach perfect for building sand castles or enjoying a stroll along the promenade with its old fashioned beach huts. Jaywick Martello Tower is located south of Clacton-on-Sea and was built in 1809 to protect the coastline from French invasion. You can visit the tower to see the living history experience, art exhibitions and live music. Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
