The Lakes Distillery is less than a mile away and offers tours and has a lovely bistro to enjoy a spot of lunch. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt with some brilliant bike tracks in Whinlatter Forest which is 8 miles away and there are some fabulous walks from your door: explore Sale Fell by walking from the cottage, directly in front of the main house or Dubwath Silver Meadows Nature Reserve opposite Bassenthwaite Lake Station. Walking through the enclosed garden, you enter the property into the useful hallway with storage for coats and muddy walking boots.
