About this property

Tucked away in the popular town of Keswick, Cumbria, is this large and spacious former B&B, Lakeland View. Enjoying a superb position within the Lake District National Park, with exceptional views out towards Skiddaw and the local amenities right on your doorstep, Lakeland View is a fantastic choice for couples, friends and families. On the ground floor, you will find a well-equipped kitchen for rustling up your best dishes, ready to enjoy at the dining table as you recount the day’s adventures. After dinner, kick-back and relax in the inviting sitting area, with plenty of plush seating and a Smart TV, ideal for enjoying movie nights with loved ones. The ground floor also hosts four tastefully decorated double bedrooms and a double sofa bed, all of which are served by a well-appointed shower room, perfect for freshening up after a day of exploring.

Outside, you can enjoy the hot tub. Explore the town, where you can tour the Derwent Pencil Museum, the Keswick Museum and Puzzling Place, stock up on essentials at the convenience store, treat your loved ones to a meal out at Star of Siam, Merienda, The Oddfellows Arms, and Casa Bella, catch a live performance at the Theatre By The Lake, canoe and kayak on Derwentwater, visit the beautiful National Trust site of Derwent Island and House, or embark on a hike up Skiddaw with incomparable views at its top. Continue onto Bassenthwaite, where you can enjoy wildlife rich walks around the Bassenthwaite Lake National Nature Reserve, leisurely strolls through Dodd Wood, or spend a day at the popular Lake District Wildlife Park. Further afield, you will find Cockermouth, home to an excellent golf club, the Castle House Gallery, National Trust - Wordsworth House and Garden, and Castle Fisheries. All this and more awaits at Lakeland View.

Keswick, as the northern Lake District's primary tourist hub, welcomes visitors all year round. The beautiful lake of Derwentwater, at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley, is only a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, and it is surrounded by excellent parks, miniature golf courses, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and great mountain biking opportunities. The picturesque Newlands Valley can be found close by between Braithwaite and Buttermere, and Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a trip if you're in the area. There's a wide variety of trails to choose from, from easy strolls through the countryside to strenuous climbs of Skiddaw or the renowned Catbells. Take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater or check out Castlerigg Stone Circle, Jennings Brewery, and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. This is a fantastic Lake District destination year-round thanks to its many family-friendly attractions, beautiful parks, and proximity to the Lake District Wildlife Park.

The only thing I would highlight is that the hot tub is in an open parking area for a hairdresser/another house/business so it would take quite confident people to use it! If a screen was put up that would help . It totally put my teens off .

Really close to Keswick town centre, room for 3 cars. Low ceilings, not great if you are tall, some of the photos give an inaccurate impression of ceiling height.

The host had left us a beautiful welcome hamper full of all sorts of goodies. The house has everything you need, we made Christmas dinner for 11 and had plenty of utensils, plates, pans ect. The kids loved the hot tub, parking for 3 cars! We were contacted by the host after arriving to make sure everything was ok, we even had a visit from a lovely lady to make sure we were settled in and knew how everything worked. Would definitely recommend this property and hopefully we will return for another visit at some point.
