Through the front door is a small porch with storage for walking boots and coats. Beyond an original glazed door is the hall leading to the open plan dining room, a beautiful room featuring a large specially commissioned solid wood dining table with long benches; perfect for a big group breakfast or dinner. With a wood burner sat in a lovely exposed brick and Lakeland slate surround it also makes a great space to spend the evenings together. A French door onto the courtyard garden opens up the living space when the weather permits. To the rear of the property is a well-equipped kitchen with luxury stone effect floors and washed wood counter tops, including a full complement of integrated, you have all you need to cook up a feast in a spacious environment. A small breakfast bar is built in at the end of the work units which would make a great place for a breakfast buffet or a sociable glass of wine whilst preparing meals. There is a small enclosed courtyard garden accessible both from the kitchen and dining room with outdoor seating and a small garage with secure, lockable storage for bikes and other outdoor equipment. There are also washing facilities for muddy paws, bikes and boots in the garage.

A lovely light and airy bedroom is situated on the ground floor with a period feature fireplace which can be set as a twin or super king-size bed. Upstairs to the first floor are 2 shared bathrooms. One has a large shower with basin and WC. The other a freestanding contemporary bath, double shower, basin and WC. A small first floor utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer, tucked out of the way to avoid any noise.

Still on the first floor but up 4 steps from the landing is bedroom two with zip and link beds providing twin flexibility or a spacious super king size double. On this floor you will also find the light and spacious living room situated at the front of the house to take advantage of the spectacular views of Skiddaw and the surrounding fells.

On the top floor there is one double bedroom featuring a large double bed and a beautiful suite with en-suite shower room. This lovely room has two windows and enjoys fabulous views of Skiddaw. A sofa-bed and seating area with a smart TV and an Xbox 360, makes the room very comfortable, and a fabulous space to get away from it all; ideal for children and teenagers.

Keswick is one of the Lake District's most popular destinations. This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted “Best Outdoor Market” in the Great British Market Awards. The town also offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and much, much more. If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink, a week just won't be long enough to sample the great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars! For a great evening out why not visit the 100-year-old Alhambra offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings or enjoy an evening at “the most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain”, the 400 seat Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.

    Three generations and two dogs had a fantastic time. No concern parking three cars close to the property and the small back yard is a real trap.

    Extreemly comfortable beds. Excellent location within 5 min walk to keswick bars, restaurants and shops. Very good base for exploring the lake district using cheap regular bus route. No problem getting 2 cars parked in street outside house. Owner Sheryl was welcoming and very helpful Will definitely book again
