The facilities provided are extensive & found the central heating to be more than sufficient to warm up the cottage. A couple of things re technology, the post code only takes you to the car park before the cottage & thankfully the instructions in the email solved the problem, mobile reception is non existent & in an emergency could create a problem but not sure if that’s something that could be overcome. In the information folder it mentions a landline phone that could receive incoming calls but no sign of it & perhaps that also needs to be updated. The minor issues did not detract from our overall experience as we thoroughly enjoyed our time & would have no hesitation in recommending Silverthwaite cottage

Clothes rack not big enough to fit kids clothes on nevermind adult when trying to dry inside. Bedrooms upstairs very dusty. Mattress protectors on 2 of the single beds were filthy and needed washing. Very old duvets on single beds. Chest of drawers in main bedroom falling apart, one drawer had separated from the side and another had from the bottom, couldn't use it. Wardrobe very dusty inside with no good clothes hangers. No space in kitchen cupboards to put away food. All cupboards full with too much unnecessary kitchen equipment that never gets used. One toliet had been used and rim was dirty and both toliet brushes were dirty and disgusting when we arrived. No games provided or dvd player, no info folder for the local area - this made our stay very hard as we had no wifi for the whole week. We won't stay again and won't be recommending the property. I will think twice about booking through any of the lakelovers company's as we spent over 2 hours on the phone trying to sort things out and valuable holiday time was lost doing this - none of the problems were sorted.

Skelwith force is virtually on the doorstep and the nearby pub claims to have the best steak and ale pie in the lakes, and so far we have to agree!
