A beautifully charming and cosy cottage found in the Kentmere Valley looking onto the River Kent.. Ground Floor:
4 steps to entrance.
Living room: With wood burner, 32" Freeview TV and Blu-ray player.
Kitchen/dining room: Farmhouse style with electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and wooden floor.
Utility room: With washing machine and tumble dryer.
Separate toilet.. First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With double bed.
Shower room: With double shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.. Economy 7 heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Logs for wood burner available locally.. Large enclosed lawned garden with patio. Landscaped grounds. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 6 steps and sloping banks in the garden and 3 steps in the grounds.. Guests are truly spoilt when staying at Black Cragg Cottage with the property retaining its original cottage feel, yet with all the modern conveniences that you would expect to find at home. Walking into the living room and shutting off from the outside world, you have generous seating around the television and wood burner. The kitchen/dining room has seating for four in the middle of the farmhouse style kitchen, making it feel warm and cosy and with everything you need to make from the simplest to the grandest of meals. There are two spacious double bedrooms on the first floor and a shower room with double shower and heated towel rail. The garden at the rear offers patio seating and grassed areas with sections of flowers and bushes that attract the local wildlife.
With just a 15-minute walk or 2-minute drive you are into neighbouring Staveley, where you will find coffee shops, pubs, local shops and the local brewery. This is a lovely little village with all the local amenities you will need while staying at Black Cragg Cottage, either getting your groceries or a take-away to take home to spend the night in front of the wood burner, or, spending the evening trying some local beers. Within a 10-minute drive you are at Kendal, offering supermarkets and shopping centres as well as some amazing local walks and the ruin of Kendal castle, while 10 minutes in the opposite direction and you have reached Windermere. With Troutbeck and Bowness-on-Windermere next door you are spoilt for choice, with local shops, access to some of the most beautiful lakeside and mountain range scenery in the National Park. Beach 16 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
