If you are looking to relax away from day-to-day life, this is the cottage for you! Nestled in the quiet village of Rusland in South Lakeland, Low Ickenthwaite Cottage is traditional in style yet offers everything you need for an enjoyable holiday! Surrounded by farm land and fells you can sit out in the beuatiful garden and enjoy a morning coffee or on wet days enjoy the view from the lounge through the stunning picture window. With a variety of walks from the doorstep, 10 minutes to Grizedale forest/visitor centre and less than 10 minutes to the nearest pub (The Eagles Head at Satterthwaite) you have plenty to keep you busy during your stay!

Entering via the front door you pass through the porch where you can kick off your muddy boots. Directly to the left in the hallway is the snug lounge, this is a great space with open fire, comfy sofas and TV. The perfect spot for reading a good book or playing games with your family on a wet evening! The ground floor WC is also located off of the hallway, and walking further into the cottage you access the kitchen. The kitchen is a gorgeous, country style kitchen with large dining table. Fully equipped with electric hob and oven, fridge, seperate freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster you have everything you need to rustle up some great meals during your stay. The view from the kitchen sink is rather special, making washing up much more pleasant! Off of the kitchen is another lounge space, here you can sit back and relax in comfort, absorbing the breathtaking view of the Lake District hills from the sofa! A second TV and lots of books can also be found in this lounge....if you can take your eyes off of that view! You can access the garden via a door between the kitchen and lounge. You can enjoy that view from the table and chairs in the garden, plus additional bench which is located in the garden for you to enjoy.

Access to the first floor is via the snug lounge (please note the stairs are a little steep but there is a handrail). On the first floor here are 2 double rooms. The main bedroom is spacious and offers beautiful views across the fields. There is plenty of storage space with wardrobe, drawers and also a TV for you to enjoy. The en suite bathroom offers WC, sink, bath and shower over bath. The 2nd double room looks across fields as well and has it's own wardrobe and drawers for storage too. The main bathroom on the first floor is spacious with WC, sink, bath and shower over bath. There is also a fitted hairdryer and full length mirror which can be used before those evenings out!

Parking for Low Ickenthwaite Cottage is at the front of the property, off of the road and on the driveway. There is also unlimited wifi at Low Ickenthwaite Cottage.

What's included?

We want our cottages to be a 'home from home'. All the beds are made up ready for you, towels are included so no need to bring those, and shower mats are also provided. Two tea towels and a set of oven gloves/cloth will be in the kitchen along with a starter pack that includes: washing up liquid, kitchen roll, toilet roll, surface spray a bin bag in each bin and a few dishwasher tablets. This is to 'start you off', you will need to buy your own once these have ran out.
