The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Cars are banned from the village, leaving visitors free to wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.

The site is ideally located for a holiday with a young family, private sessions in the swimming pool were much appreciated. Unfortunately the vacuum cleaner failed to work - reported to the shop. There was a minor leak on the washing machine when running - not reported.

We really enjoyed it !! It was in a lovely area and the grounds were amazing and so well kept. It was great to be able to walk with the dog ( who had the best holiday !! ) With use of the pool and table tennis this helped on the rainy days. We visited all the different villages in the lakes and all in within easy reach with the car. The cottage itself had everything you required, "home from home". Would recommend to all family and friends. Many thanks for a great holiday !!
