The Hartley Hut is a mile from the nearest road, located in ancient woodland in Norfolk. This romantic shepherd’s hut is both tranquil and away from it all, yet comes with a host of luxuries, with outdoor bathing, a well-equipped kitchen and a spa on site- a prefect glamping break.

Step up to the verandah and you will find the luxurious, double ended bath where you can lie back, relax and enjoy the stars with your favourite bubbles whilst watching the wildlife around you. Dry off in front of the gas fire pit, and have fun cooking in the well-appointed outdoor kitchen. Finish off the evening with a Twilight Hamper full of tempting delights such as marshmallows, popcorn, chocolate sauce and hot chocolate, which can be ordered from the owners on arrival, although you will be greeted by complimentary starter welcome pack along with toiletries.

Inside the hut is a fabulous wood burning stove and a very comfortable king-size bed with soft cushions and throws all decorated in calming hues of Duck Egg Blue. With a built-in boom box and a 20 inch television to enjoy, you will feel relaxed and cosy whatever time of year you choose to stay.

With the adjacent land owned by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy birds and wildlife, so don’t forget your binoculars. The Hartley Hut is located just outside the village of Thompson, deep in Thetford Forest, on the outskirts of the forest canopy of beech and elm. There are two similarly appointed huts nearby, yet you get plenty of privacy.

There is a hot tub available to use for the duration of your stay, please note this is an additional extra.

The Hartley Hut has the added benefit of a choice of two outdoor spa areas in the grounds. The Lotus Spa and The Lilly Pad Spa. Please see below for further information.

Additional Information:

Hot tub available to add on to the booking for an additional charge of £25 per night. If added, this needs to be added for the same number of nights as the stay.

Children over the age of 14 welcome.

Early check in available for £20, arrival from 1.30pm, please ask for this on booking.

Please note there is a £100 security deposit that is taken a few days before your holiday and held until departure.

Parking to the rear in shared gravel area.

Private wood fired hot tub.

The Lilly Pad Spa offers a Hot tub, Sauna, Relaxation area and Solar Shower which are available to book with private use. This spa is open 24 hours a day and 90 minute slots can be booked on our black board located near the spa area. You may return for additional slots in off peak times. You can add this extra to your booking for £33 per couple per slot. A basket with robes towels and instructions are included in this cost.

The Lotus spa area with Natural swimming pool, swim spa, hot tub, barrel sauna, and relaxation area. The relaxation area is an elegant safari tent with a wood burner shower and changing facilities. Robes and towel will be provided. Refreshments; Selection of teas, Coffee & Juices
