Bedroom 1: With four poster kingsize bed.
Bedroom 2: With zip and link twin beds (which can be made to super king size – please advise when booking).
Bathroom: With roll-top bath, shower and WC. . All gas, electric, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial 1st nights fuel for wood burner provided, there is an honesty box for the rest.. Large, enclosed garden with furniture. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. No smoking. . The Shillings is one of two restored cottages sitting in a small terrace in the picturesque hamlet of West Lyham. Surrounded by stunning rural views, The Shillings is a charming two bedroom cottage perched at the end of this small terrace. The contemporary kitchen is stylishly furnished with good quality appliances and Belfast sink. There is the added convenience of a separate dining room and the cosy lounge has a superb feature fireplace. Both bedrooms are on the first floor along with a fresh bathroom. West Lyham is located equidistant between Belford and Wooler, both being only four miles away.
Belford, often described as ‘The Gateway to the Secret Kingdom’ offers many facilities including a pub renowned for its delicious food, along with an impressive golf driving range. A further five miles east brings you to the prestigious coastal village of Bamburgh, dominated by its majestic fortress edged by a wide expanse of golden, sandy sweeping beach where Holy Island can be viewed. A short drive west of The Shillings is the friendly market town of Wooler, nestled at the foot of the Cheviot Hills. This is a popular destination for those who enjoy cycling and walking, as the challenging route of St Cuthbert’s Way runs close by. Chatton Trout Fishery invites amateur anglers to fish without a rod licence in its picturesque four-acre lake.
The Shillings offers idyllic accommodation in a picturesque rural setting and makes an excellent base to explore the Northumbrian countryside and giving easy access to the Heritage seashore, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
