The property is idyllically situated, being a short stroll away from Druridge Bay Country Park, which leads to expansive sand dunes and a glorious 7 mile beach in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on a Heritage coastline.

This delightful, comfortable, well-equipped, self-catering lodge is attached to the owners’ beautiful authentic Scandinavian log home where a warm and friendly welcome awaits visitors. The living space, with its bijou dining area, overlooks a bridge and the start of the award-winning water garden. The contemporary, well-equipped kitchen has an American fridge/freezer, electric cooker and built in microwave. There is also a separate utility room, small shower room and separate cloakroom situated on the ground floor. The bedroom with small office area is upstairs with en-suite bath and shower attachment, where you will also find the bamboo towels are super absorbent and hypo-allergenic. The property is immaculately presented throughout and the water garden has five individual relaxing/eating areas to enjoy dining al fresco whilst enjoying the pond life and waterfalls. The garden has been created with a sunken outdoor, roofed area, suitable for eating/reading/painting/creative writing and photography lovers alike.

Swallow Lodge sits amongst a small cluster of similar style log properties, close to Druridge Bay Country Park, where there is a nature sanctuary with many water sports available on Ladyburn Lake. Druridge Bay has rolling sand dunes which are ideal for those who wish to indulge in the simple pleasure of walking barefoot in the sand, inhale the invigorating sea air and watching the waves lapping against its beautiful seashore. Swallow Lodge is positioned on the fringe of Hadston and provides a quintessential holiday retreat for couples to give an excellent base to explore the 20 miles of Heritage Coastline, a region which is proud to have been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The traditional fishing village of Amble, known locally as ’the friendliest port’ is only 3 miles north where fishing and boat trips to Coquet Island can be arranged. 9 miles south is the ancient market town of Morpeth, where the river Wansbeck winds its way behind the town’s shopping area which offers a wide range of facilities. Alnwick Castle (used as the location of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts) has outstanding gardens created by the Duchess of Northumberland, which includes a lovely woodland walk, a grand cascade waterfall and a restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Alnwick can be found by taking the beautiful coastal road heading north from the lodge.
