This delightful, romantic 19th century fisherman's cottage lies 60 metres from a sandy beach in the seaside hamlet of Low Hauxley. This property is ideally situated to explore the coastline and castles of Northumberland.
This delightful traditional fisherman’s cottage has been sympathetically restored to offer very comfortable holiday accommodation - the perfect romantic coastal retreat.
Lobster Pot Cottage is in a fabulous location in the coastal village of Low Hauxley, just a stone’s throw from a beautiful sandy beach. The property dates back to the 19th C with exposed stone walls in the cosy living room. But guests can be assured of 21st century living - the stylish kitchen is contemporary modern appliances and pine farmhouse dining table and chairs. Wide glazed doors open up into the living room giving it a lovely open plan feel. Outside there’s a small sheltered garden with patio table and chairs. Upstairs the double bedroom is beautifully furnished with pretty fabrics and furnishings.
The village is bordered by the River Coquet and the historic Hermitage, a rock-hewn retreat only accessible by guide boat is well worth a visit. Stroll down to the beach, throw a towel on the sand a simply relax… a very popular holiday destination.
If you’re looking to get out and about and explore - Alnwick is 5 miles away, probably most famous for its magnificent castle which was used in the making of the Harry Potter movies as Hogwarts. The Alnwick Garden was created by the Duchess of Northumberland ten years ago into a striking landscaped garden with innovative structural design and unique features. Alnwick is also home to Barter Books, a huge second hand bookshop set inside an old Victorian railway station. Visit the marina at Amble, 2 miles south, indulge yourself with an award winning ice cream parlour or join one of the fishing trips or stroll around the weekend market. Excellent golf is available in Warkworth itself and at several courses along the coast..
