A feature fireplace sits centre stage alongside the Smart TV, so you can spread out on the plush sofas and log into your Netflix account to enjoy a relaxing evening in after a busy day. Beneath the high ceilings with classic cornice coving, move to the next room for a quiet moment, designed as a media or games room, it makes for a great place to wind down, whether you find that solace in a book or a video game. Enjoy lunches outside in the enclosed back garden where the pups can run around on the lawn as you set up a feast on the picnic bench when Chester is enjoying some sun. As well as the ground-floor shower room which holds a sparkling and large double shower cubicle, when you head upstairs to the first floor there is another bathroom holding an original claw foot roll-top bath dating back to around 1902 and in wonderful condition, so you can take pleasure in having a hot soak in the evening. Also on this first floor are three bedrooms, with two attractive double rooms with vibrant feature wallpaper and a master king-size featuring a pretty brass bed frame, large bay windows overlooking the front and benefiting from an en-suite shower room as well. The final room and completing this grand interior is the twin room on the second floor where you can pull up the blind on the velux window in the morning to flood the sunlight in to wake you up to another exciting day in this ancient city. Begin your journey around Chester with a walk around the Roman walls, a fantastic way to see so much of the city including the beautiful River Dee, the canal and the racecourse. Walk under the famous Eastgate Clock and hop off to wander inside the incredible Chester Cathedral and marvel at the architecture and history. Indulge in some excellent shopping within the Grosvenor Precinct where a host of your favourite retailers are based, or take a short drive or bus journey over to Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village for discount designer stores. A visit to Chester wouldn't be complete without a great day out at Chester Zoo, with new exhibits, rare and endangered animals, talks by Zoo Rangers and advertised feeding times, this attraction is not to be missed. Glenwyllan is a homely and historic abode enjoying a fabulous location in Chester.

Chester is a wonderful city found on the banks of the River Dee in the county of Cheshire. I found beds a little soft (but that is a personal thing). Would recommend this property - it is convenient for town and zoo, great.

The owners were accommodating in some specific requests of ours which included baby cots and chairs. The house was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Would stay there again.

The house was lovely and in a great location for exploring Chester and for the train to Liverpool. The perfect base for a short break
