About this property

Foxy Lady Cottage is an enchanting terraced cottage with character, nestled in the historic market town of Workington.

Ideally situated for exploring local amenities and attractions, it is perfect for couples. Foxy Lady Cottage accommodates two guests and two well-behaved dogs.

Stepping inside, you are greeted by a spacious lounge, where distinctive exposed stonework adds a touch of charm. Cosy up in front of the faux wood burner, sink into the sofa, or curl up in an armchair. The kitchen, with its white painted stonework, has a bright and airy ambiance. It houses a dining table and chairs, ideal for socializing with the cook. This unique space is equipped with a single ring hob, microwave, and air fryer, with an undercounter fridge beside the sink. The back door opens to an enclosed garden, featuring bench seating and a bistro table and chairs for ultimate relaxation.

Ascending from the lounge, the thoughtfully arranged, spacious, and newly renovated shower room is an ideal space to freshen up after a day's adventures. A heated towel rail, enclosed shower cubicle, and a sink with a mirror above and brass fittings create a contemporary atmosphere. The bedroom features a brass bed that complements the cottage's character, ample hanging space, bedside tables, and industrial-style wall lights, adding to the room's cosy charm.

With the Helena Thompson Museum, Workington Hall, and Vulcan Park nearby, you'll be spoiled for choice. For those seeking adventure, the Ghyll Scrambling Water Adventure a bit further away offers an exciting experience.

Experience all this and more during a tranquil stay at Foxy Lady Cottage.

Workington is an ancient market and port town on the west coast of Cumbria, based at mouth of the River Derwent. The town has a selection of shops, bars and two theatres, as well as five churches and history dating back to Roman times, with forts positioned on the coast as coastal defences. Curwen Hall is a striking ruin, which was originally built around a pele tower that dates back to the 14th century and was used to shelter Mary Queen of Scots on her last flight to Scotland before her execution. In more recent time, Workington was known for the production of high quality iron ore and mining, and the town’s industrial history can be learnt at the maritime museum based on the cliffs in nearby Whithaven. The western side of the Lake District National Park can be reached in less than half an hour’s drive, to the west is the Solway Firth and its designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and to the east are the Lakeland Hills. A wonderful base for exploring the Cumbrian coastline.
