Roose, also known as Roosecote, is a charming neighbourhood and ward of Barrow-in-Furness and a great place to start for people looking for a quiet escape in Cumbria. There is a lot to discover both in the immediate vicinity and farther afield in the region that includes Piel Island, Roa Island, Rampside, and Stank. The neighbourhood is served by the Roose railway station, one of the few remaining stops on the Furness Line in the Barrow area, as well as a variety of pubs and stores that cater to all tastes and are great for any self-catered visit. It had everything that we needed and more. We visited the local milk hut and got the most gorgeous caramel shortcake and strawberry milkshake for a sweet treat. We honestly couldn't have asked for more from the owners.. I messaged them a few days before we were due to arrive and they replied straight away & were so helpful. Thank you so much. We'll be back :)

The tarn area across the road from the cottage was ideal for short dog walks. The village is very quiet but it is a short drive to access good facilities in Roose. Ulverston is also quite close and was a pleasant town to visit with reasonably priced parking. The beach areas nearby to Leece were fantastic for dog walking. We will certainly consider Jasmar Cottage for any return trips to the area.
