About this property

Paying homage to its origins, Corner Cottage is a characterful barn conversion, located near the village of Arnside in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the RSPB Nature Reserve of Leighton Moss close by. Nestled in a lovely, countryside landscape, perfect for hiking and wildlife watching, Corner Cottage offers a well-equipped base for solo travellers, couples and families of four looking to explore the delights of the Lakes. Be welcomed by designated parking for two cars, along with an inviting shared courtyard and 9 acres of luscious fields to explore. Upon entering you are greeted by the homely open-plan living space, with plenty of plush seating to unwind upon in front of the Smart TV, dining space for four guests, and a sleek kitchen, ready to ease your self-catered stay. Bask in your surroundings by spending some time outdoors, before retiring to one of two well-appointed bedrooms for some rest, selecting between a king-size with Smart TV, and a twin. To the exterior lies a semi-private outdoor seating area, which is in a distinct nook from the courtyard; here you can enjoy an alfresco breakfast or perhaps an afternoon barbecue followed by toasting marshmallows and telling stories around the firepit. Complete your morning routine in the contemporary bathroom, also housing a shower, before starting your itinerary across the region. Embark on a rural break at Corner Cottage . Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1135186, 113553, & 1135534, together sleeping up to 16 guests.

Arnside is situated on the southernmost tip of the Lake District in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where low limestone hills, marshy plains and deciduous woodlands characterise the surrounding land. This former fishing port has retained many of the features from its past. The beautiful pier and port areas of the village offer stunning views across the Kent Estuary, as well as providing an enduring reminder of Arnside's illustrious history. To the south of the village are the 15th century Pele Towers, which were constructed to defend against the marauding Scots. The local surrounding area is a nature lover's paradise with stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks through countryside alive with rare plants, trees and wildlife. The internationally renowned Leighton Moss rspb Reserve is also just one mile away. Guided walks across the Kent Estuary are available, showing the full splendour of the shore and surrounding area. Within easy touring distance are the Lake District and Lune Valley, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland.

Our cockapoo Molly loved the enclosed exercise fields, especially all the balls and launchers supplied to play with. It’s lovely to find a place that welcomes and encourages dogs. I do agree with one other reviewer who said the sofa wasn’t very comfortable. Despite being new it was small in depth. This could possibly be solved by putting a long footstool in front of it. However we still highly recommend this property.

The set up and presentation of the cottage is top drawer. The owners have thought of and included everything, plus. The plus being that instead of feeling like a holiday let, the quality and care with which the place was 'dressed' with high quality ornaments etc made it feel as if we were staying with a house proud person with good taste. The same care extended to the grounds which include, a short walk away a safe mown field for dog exercising even with a box of toys to keep your pooch happy. The location is quiet and in easy reach of Silverdale and Arnside, both worth a visit.
