These two farmers cottages are nestled within the rural hamlet of Newhaven, on the border of many local destinations such as Dovedale, Hartington, Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne, and Chatsworth, making it the perfect retreat for your countryside getaway. On your doorstep, you have a local shop selling homemade sandwiches and other delightful treats along with your daily essentials. You can also take advantage of having Carriage’s bar and restaurant just a few minutes’ walk away; this pub reopened a few years ago and has its name because its interior is displayed as though you are in a train carriage - it is a quirky addition to the area.

Fill your days by heading out on foot along the Tissington Trail, finishing off with a scone and tea at Tissingtons village tearooms, or perhaps an adventurous day at Buxton’s Go Ape. Chatsworth and all its beauty is waiting for you, purchase a ticket to explore the house and gardens, that is something that should get ticked off every person’s bucket list.

The Dovedale steppingstones are a short 10-minute drive from the cottage, challenge yourself to a walk-up Thorpe Cloud and then reap the rewards with a cold drink at the local hotel, The Izaak Walton, which oozes history! It even has carvings in the glass windows from the 17th century. The family run cottages are located on Old House Farm, although they are kept separate, the owner is very open to showing guests the cattle should they wish too.
