Swallows Nest is an absolutely classy little holiday retreat close to the centre of the picturesque and peaceful Peak District village of Birchover. This is just a lovely little cottage with its picture window opening onto the patio and extensive garden, beautifully furnished and decorated lounge, quality well equipped kitchen and luxurious bedroom with sparking en-suite shower room.
Birchover takes some beating too! Stroll up the lane to the Red Lion pub renowned for its great food. Wander a little further into the village to the Druid Inn restaurant for a sumptuous meal. Have exciting times exploring nearby Stanton Moor with the Kings Stone and Nine Ladies Stone Circle, Cratcliff Rocks, Robin Hood's Stride and the Hermits Cave. The Limestone Way and numerous other footpaths will take you out across the wonderful Peak District hills.
But if your legs get tired there are lots of other places you might fancy visiting like Caudwell's Mill Craft Centre, Matlock Bath's cable cars, the National Tramway Museum and Peak Rail's steam trains. It's incredible that you are in the midst of beautiful scenery yet all these attractions and famous places like Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell market town are just a few minutes' drive away.
Cottage facilities:
A superb lounge with floor to ceiling window, French doors to the patio and garden, quality settee and chairs, amazing gas - coal effect stove, T.V., DVD, Freeview and Wi-Fi. An attractive dining area with table and chairs. A quality fitted kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. A luxurious double bedroom. A sparkling en-suite shower room with easy access, extra large shower and W.C.
Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, fuel and power are included. There is a sunny patio with furniture and an extensive garden. Off road parking outside the cottage. Secure under cover storage for bikes is available. Pets and smoking are not permitted in the cottage. Access for people with disabilities may be possible. Please ask for details and a copy of the cottage access statement.
Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.
Nearest pub - Birchover 100yds. Nearest village shop - Winster 2 miles. Nearest supermarket - Bakewell 4 miles.
